Re: [QUAD-L] serious health questions
Hey Lil'- Long time no hear from. I have been going through the same thing (except the UTI's, I did have a bad one a couple of months ago, it was only my second UTI in almost 20 yrs) and am now on midodrine also. I am feeling better until the midodrine wears off after 3 hours. My blood pressure has always been low; but I have had alot more lows with near passing out with always feeling tired and light-headed. My lab work came back good, and so did my adrenal gland test. I am and always have been lean, but I am wondering if the atrophy I have had has something to do with it.? Kind of sounds like we are in the same boat, as I recall you are just a lil'-thing... haha! How much midodrine are you taking? I have low blood pressure too. I also take midodrine, they are 5 mg tabs I usually take three per day. Another thing I was given to combat low blood pressure was Sudafed I can take up to 30 mg four times a day. Ask your doctor about Sudafed. I still wear Ted hose and a waistband. I feel so much better when my blood pressure is above a hundred systolic. When I need a midodrine I know it's about 70 systolic or lower. Good luck. Re: [QUAD-L] dizzy spells
It happens every time I eat. I just take a midodrine about 15 minutes before I eat a big meal and works great. Debbie C4 incomplete/April 2005 --- On Fri, 7/18/08, Quadius [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: From: Quadius [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [QUAD-L] dizzy spells To: Dwain Powell [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: quad-list@eskimo.com Date: Friday, July 18, 2008, 2:39 PM I also suffer from this malady and have so for the majority of the 13 years I have spent in this chair. The first three years of my chairbound existence was largely spent lying back in my wheelchair. My problem is especially acute when I stay down for an entire day and then get up and try to eat a heavy meal. It usually takes me an hour and a half to get my blood pressure up to a level where I can go into my office to work. I also find it extremely difficult to eat within an hour or so of getting up and then get into my Van to be driven around. Here are my suggestions: 1. Have someone take your blood pressure when this is transpiring to get a good idea how low it is actually going. 2. Start wearing an abdominal Binder if you are not already doing so. In doing so helps contract the diaphragm and increases the blood pressure, at least in my case. 3. If your BP is going to low, you might want to talk to your physician about having ephedrine on hand for really difficult times. 4. If it is at all possible, you need to eat lighter meals. For me this is impractical as I am alone most of the day and need to maintain my blood sugar, but I try to factor in that I will usually have to sit back for anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour before getting on with my normal daily activities. 5. I also had a doctor suggests that I sleep with my head inclined at a 30° angle. I haven't been able to do this too much, but when I do I have noticed I am able to get going much quicker. I hope this helps. Also make sure you take a look at all the other responses as they additionally have a lot of experience dealing with issues like this. Windows 7 and Re:[QUAD-L] Windows Vista voice program
Sorry Danny but I thanked you too soon for misinformation. Windows 7 is going to be AWHILE in coming. Even at this EXTREEMLY early date, Microsoft is saying that Windows 7 won't be ready until (AT THE EARLIEST) after late January 2010. I am not sure where you got your information, but even based upon Microsoft's history with delays of OS releases, the end of this year is ludricrous. There isn't even anything in Beta testing right now, let alone Windows 7, Mohave, or whatever. Microsoft is too busy right now trying to bolster Vista's image to worry about an entirely new OS. If there were some caring people in power things would be done right, and judging from the evidence, caring is furthest from their mind. All good advice. Also check your meds. Baclophin (spelling) and some other bladder pills lower BP as do anti spasmodic and pain meds. I would always pass out in the shower after removing the binder. RE: [QUAD-L] serious health questions
The tightest fitting TED hose might help the low bp. Check the stoma as the cause. Near everything in those pumps will lower bp so countering with a med might not have desirable affects where you are lowering. Fine line between raising bp and hyper tension. The past 2 to 2 1/2 years I have been having dizzy spells to where if I don't tilt back in my w/c I will pass completely out. It happens after I eat a meal. I have been to different Dr.'s about this and the only thing they can tell me is that my blood is going into my digestion system. The only problem is it doesn't happen every time I eat. Has anyone ever heard of a problem like this? I also have scoliosis bad. My spine curves bad right in between my shoulders. Could this have anything to do with it? FW: [QUAD-L] serious health questions - heat
Lack of enough water is often over looked as lowering BP and major cause for UTIs. Need more in the summer so it is a good reason to push fluids. What bothers me is having low BP and feeling so tired at night. The moment my head hits the pillow I am awake all night. Next day you bet my BP is low. I do not take meds for prostate or bladder so raising my BP is not fighting these. The double espresso in the AM will raise blood pressure in moments. I use the supra pubic so my bladder and prostate can get as tight as they want. Merrill _ From: ~LittleQuad~ [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, August 02, 2008 5:26 PM To: Tod E. RE: Windows 7 and Re:[QUAD-L] Windows Vista voice program
Ya I meant at the end of 2009 Sorry I get my information from Chris Pirillo, Slashdot, Wikipedia and my friends btw... Windows 7 (formerly known as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Microsoft_codenames Blackcomb and Vienna) is the working name for the next major version of Microsoft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Windows Windows as the successor to Windows http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Vista Vista.[3] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7#cite_note-2 Microsoft has announced that it is scoping Windows 7 development to a three-year timeframe, and that the specific release date will ultimately be determined by meeting the quality bar.[4] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7#cite_note-zdnet592-3 Windows 7 is expected to be released by 2009 or near January 2010.[2] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7#cite_note-win7release-1 The client versions of Windows 7 will ship in both 32-bit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/32-bit and 64-bit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/64-bit versions.[4] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7#cite_note-zdnet592-3 A server variant, codenamed Windows http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Server_7 Server 7, is also under development. I have heard that Dragon NaturallySpeaking now has software for the Macs, but I have found very little online about this product. I don't know how much it cost or whether it is as good as the normal version. I think it would be nice to go over to a system which is much more stable.
