Thanks Vince for another great day at curborough, although mine ended
on the back of a recovery truck all the way back home! The overheating
on the 2+2 got worse on the drive home and I only got a mile down the
road before the temp was in the red again. When I pulled over I found
that the radiator had had enough and not only was coolant flowing out
of the expansion tank, it was also flowing out of a hole in the
radiator as well. 3 hours later we arrived home and with a little
scratching of heads and a couple of beers the source of the problem
was found to be a failed thermostat. The old hot water test proved
that the thermostat had no intention of opening even at 100 DegC. So a
£5 part has now cost me a new radiator, what a pain. Nevermind it was
a great day whilst the car was running. Maybe Curborough is not
destined to be my cars favorite place as it killed my turbo last year
and has now destroyed a radiator this time round. Maybe i will give it
a miss next yearor maybe not! Bring on the uprated Radtec
radiator and front mounted oil cooler!
All the best
Eddie
