>From memory, one of those is the octane adjuster and may only have 2 wires.
There other one is the diagnostic port, it’s not OBD in the standard sense,
it’s specific to Ford.
Fault code readers do exist that will display the codes, they read a much
faster version of the same pulses that comes before the slow pulses.
I have one, i will try and remember to check the make/model.
Has it always done it, slowly got worse or suddenly started doing it ?
Is the mixture ok when it’s warm ?

Hi All
Can anyone tell me which is the correct OBD port on a 1600 CVH EFi loom. There
appears to be two, one black & one white, both with red caps.
Also does anyone know of an interface or programme to give a readout on a
computer instead of the Gunson reader which relies on counting flashes on a LED
(which I have)
My H4i is misfiring between 2500 & 3500 rpm when cold, with sooty plugs. Any
suggestions welcome.
