The track shouldn’t change because the driveshafts haven’t been changed,
although there may be a minor change if the camber angle has been altered?

Hi Darren

Just looked at my Fiesta Haynes manual.
Track.
Saloons & Van:
Front - 1367mm (53.9in)
Rear - 1321mm (52.0in)
XR2:
Front - 1385mm (54.6in)
Rear - 1339mm (52.8in)

Track is measured to the centre of the wheel so different wheel widths and
offsets will change it slightly.

Hope this helps

RE: [Quantum Owners] Saloon dimensions

2019-10-04 Thread susanandmartin
The track is the same as the Fiesta (driveshaft etc haven’t been changed) The
easy (hopefully accurate?) source is Carfolio. The rear is narrower than front
(by 34mm? IIRC). Wheelbase may be in the Quantum original build manual, I can
run a tape measure over mine if you wish.

Hi John
We have a very comprehensive record for your car(080) (50+ pages) this will
take some time to scan and send to you however records do show that the car
was originally post office red which i believe to be a scott bader colour
and one we stock but.the car appears to have been painted at a discount
price due to discolouration and fading after 18 months ,this is recorded as
mazda red but without any reference to a paint code

RE: [Quantum Owners] Gel coat colour code (red saloon)

2019-10-04 Thread susanandmartin
That’s what I ended up with and it was VERY dark – I subsequently painted the
caravan with an Oxford blue which was closer to the car colour. Oxford Blue (I
since found out) is like British Racing Green ….. there are many different
versions . The only way is to know what RAL or BS number it is, and even then
it’s hit or miss.

Seems like I will have to experiment with getting correct red pigemnt. I was
rather hoping there would be some factory records surviving noting the gel coat
colour on each kit sold/built - but apparently not.

@ Martin
Scott Bader still list Oxford Blue pigment code 1187 - did this not match your
Oxford Blue saloon?

When I tried to match the Oxford Blue of my saloon (to pigment the gelcoat for

Quantum Moulding, with no luck – nobody seemed to recognize the number! There
appear to be only 2 suppliers of pigment (Llewelyn  Ryland and Scott Bader), so
your best chance may be to send each of them a small sample to see if they can
match it. The other factor is that the pigments all fade over time.

Re: [Quantum Owners] Gel coat colour code (red saloon)

2019-10-04 Thread John R
Steve

I have been in touch with Rob at QSC already - he is in the process of
getting a copy together of file/records for my car (it was a factory
build). He did comment however that he thought it unlikely the gel coat
colour code would be recorded.

Re: [Quantum Owners] Gel coat colour code (red saloon)

2019-10-04 Thread John R
Seems like I will have to experiment with getting correct red pigemnt. I
was rather hoping there would be some factory records surviving noting the
gel coat colour on each kit sold/built - but apparently not.

@ Martin
Scott Bader still list Oxford Blue pigment code 1187 - did this not match
your Oxford Blue saloon?
