Re: [Quantum Owners] Xtreame fuel pump upgrade?

2016-04-11 Thread Ian Harrison
Zetec blacktop running a standard plenum on the inlet side. The fuel pump is a
high pressure one from a Vauxhall I seem to recall. It has the right size inlet
and outlet pipes.

Mine has a feed and return pipe but I do not run a separate swirl pot.

For the sump I have an ERA (Tiger racing) ally sump with an internal baffle. It
solves the ground clearance issue but is not as foolproof as the Raceline one
when it comes to really hard cornering. So far the combo has served me well
with no problems.

Hi Robert. I suspect you gave the standard Quantum set up with flow and return
pipe. On Omex system, when you first turn ignigion on without starting the pump
pressurises for approx 10 secs then stops. It is noisy. Whats puzzling me is
that there shouldn't be sny difference switching from plenum to bodies, so you
must have changed something. I am actually puzzled as to why you didnt have the
noise before.

[Quantum Owners] Xtreame fuel pump upgrade?

2016-04-10 Thread Nigel Plant
Sorry forgot the sump bit. Mine is standard blacktop, with alloy sump casing
and steel pan on bottom. It does look low, but has never been a major problem,
but I do go sliwly over speed bumps. A few times I have scraped it going fast
on bumpy roads snd off track excursions. When I had the sump off a couple of
years ago, I welded a 3 mm pkate on the bottom as it was getting a little thin.
I believe Ian H has same configuration too.

Re: [Quantum Owners] Xtreame fuel pump upgrade?

2016-04-10 Thread Chris Young
I take it you have switched to having a low pressure pump feeding a swirl
pot, then out the swirl pot a high pressure pump feeding the fuel rail?

I run a Rover v8 so perhaps not a good comparison of pumps.

Hello everyone. I'm getting my Xtreame
Zetechblack top a set on Throtle Body's.Now they are on the fuel pump is
making a noise. We replaced it same thing. We have a fuel regulator 3bar.
What fuel pump do you use?

Also what clearance from the oil sump do you have?
I have a two part alloy sump, that keeps hitting speed bumps.

Thanks for any replys.Robert Greig
