[qubes-users] Re: Touchpad scroll speed under 4.0.1

2019-08-09 Thread elimisteve
Looks like Qubes 4.x uses libinput rather than synaptics for the touchpad
driver (and probably other things, too). I was able to speed things up by
running the following command sequence:

xinput list

to get a list of my devices. My touchpad has id=11. To see its properties
I run

xinput list-props 11

Hopefully you see settings you can change to get the behavior you want!

To spot most of the speed-related settings, try running

xinput list-props 11 | grep -ie constant -ie decel -ie accel

Unfortunately I only get

libinput Accel Speed (314): -0.60
libinput Accel Speed Default (315):0.00

so I've had to experiment around a lot with the "Coordinate Transformation
Matrix (156)" setting to speed up my mouse. At least for now I have
settled on

xinput set-prop 11 156 5 0 0 0 5 0 0 0 1

Hope this helps!

I have a related problem, specifically: I want to make the general touchpad
sensitivity/speed more responsive. I am tweaking my xorg.conf and will let
you know if I solve the issue, which will hopefully shed light on your
problem :-).

2019-07-01 Thread elimisteve
Hi Sven,

I am almost certainly about to buy
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B075TH6GBT/ , a ThinkPad P51 with an
i7-7820HQ -- just like your machine above.

Should be very similarly compatible with Qubes 4.0, I hope.

Are you happy with how your laptop has turned out re: Qubes 4 compatibility?

Thanks!

I don't think that is correct. Qubes 3.2 support is now gone, yes, but Qubes
3.2.1 support is not since 3.2.1 runs Whonix 14:

Jake,

Sounds like you were having the same sleep/resume issues I'm having now.
Are/were you using kernel version 4.5.3 with Qubes 3.1 or some early version of
3.2? I'm on 3.2 and hoping that building a new kernel will fix my sleep issue.

Thanks.

Hi Gabriel,

After running
https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues/issues/2381#issuecomment-294405605 ,
everything on my T460s works great except it doesn't wake up from sleep when I
press the power button.

Resume works for you, you said? Did you have to do anything special to make it
work? Thanks.

How is battery life on your T460s using Qubes? I'm considering buying one, but
there's lots of complaints online about that.

And is the CPU fast enough? I'm looking at machines with 4 cores as well.

Thanks!
