RE: QWS List About QWS and pitchbend

2014-07-22 Thread Nicole Massey
Well, pitch bend is handled just like controllers, though I forget the
controller number you use for it. (I know it's 129 or higher, but you'd need
to check the manual for that) But I don't remember how to scale controllers
in QWS. Remember also that pitch bend is a high density number that works
with positive and negative numbers, not a 0 up range like most controllers
and other values in MIDI. It might be best to just scrub the pitch bend and
re-cut it on the track.

Hey, this is seth. I was wondering if there is a way to change the
pitchbend range for a track that has already been recorded. I can get
it to change when recording new tracks, but I want to change the bend
range for a bass track I recorded. I really don't want to have to
rerecord the whole track. Does anybody have any Ideas?
 Seth

PS, Thank you James for the suggestion about channel split. It worked
perfectly, once I got rid of the channel 0 track and clipped some off
the beginning and end of my song.

On a similar note, is it possible to do a pitch bend with the keyboard?
Like let's say I want to do a glissando sliding down, or a legato going
up on a note.

What it sounds like you want is Portamento, which is controller 5 IIRC. This
will depend on if the sound source you're using understands it or not. I'd
suggest giving it a try.
There's also a controller in the 64-95 range that is the on/off switch for
Portamento, but I don't remember that one right off the top of my head.
