I can't reproduce this on Fedora 20, so I think it is an Ubuntu bug.
If anyone not on Ubuntu can reproduce this then please add a comment in
the bug repository.

Hi, regarding earlier versions: I can reproduce this bug with R 3.1.1 on Ubuntu 14.04, Gnome Terminal. I could imagine this is an Ubuntu problem since I've had "ghost mice" and strange cursor behavior since I switched to 14.04.
