[R] Need help for interpreting the simulation results...

2011-01-10 Thread gokhanocakoglu

Hi all,

I performed a simulation study on R for bootstrap, permutation and classic
version of hotelling T^2 test.
I aimed to compare 2 groups to see the performances of these tests for n=
20, 50, 100 and 500. For this reason I investigated type 1 error rates. I
found that for n=20 type I error rate that belongs bootstrap version of
hotelling tests is 0. How shall I interpret this result, I mean is it
possible to say that the bootstrap version is hotelling test is unavailable
for n=20...

thanx

[R] R script on linux?

2010-11-02 Thread gokhanocakoglu

Dear all,
I am conducting a simulation study for my thesis on R in windows xp platform
but due to better performance and for gaining time I have to run the script
on linux server(some kind of workstation). But I have no idea which format
the codes should be in. Is there any converter for this situation- is it
possible convert the R code in linux format or can you advice me a reference
for overcoming this problem..

kindest regards

Re: [R] Euclidean Distance Matrix Analysis (EDMA) in R?

2010-06-28 Thread gokhanocakoglu

basicly I am using standart shape package in R, no need additional code for
analysis

http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/shapes/index.html
http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/shapes/shapes.pdf

anf the main reference is Statistical Shape Analysis
(http://www.amazon.com/Statistical-Shape-Analysis-I-Dryden/dp/0471958166)

2010-06-27 Thread gokhanocakoglu

I am using EDMA software and I have couple of papers about statistical shape
analysis and you are right about bootstrapping.
Wish R has an EDMA package and we could see how the results compatible with
EDMA software.

Re: [R] Euclidean Distance Matrix Analysis (EDMA) in R?

2010-06-26 Thread gokhanocakoglu

I am using EDMA for comparing the interlandmark distances of two forms.
Actually there is a software called EDMA of course developed by Lele and
Richstmeier but main point is I am trying to solve quite different problem
on the same data set using R and EDMA so data entry format of EDMA software
is different than R format, every trial(for every different data set) I have
to set the data entry format according to EDMA.
Now I am checking Julien Claud's book named Morphometrics with R
(http://www.springer.com/statistics/life+sciences,+medicine+%26+health/book/978-0-387-77789-4)
there is a section about EDMA and hopefully I am trying the reach same
results with EDMA using EDMA software...

Re: [R] Euclidean Distance Matrix Analysis (EDMA) in R?

2010-06-25 Thread gokhanocakoglu

In fact, Euclidean Distance Matrix Analysis (EDMA) of form is a coordinate
free approach to the analysis of form using landmark data which was
developed by Subhash Lele and Joan Richstmeier. They also developed a
computer program (http://www.getahead.psu.edu/comment/edma.asp) that allow
to perform several techniques including EDMA I-II but I wonder is there a
package or code available in R to perform EDMA...

thanks
