HI:

Though you appear to have found the problem. it is a package called plotdap,
the Ubuntu results are here:

https://builder.r-hub.io/status/plotdap_0.0.1.tar.gz-5e8cf0d2b8304290820438dde5593e27

The complete build attempt was:

> #> * installing *source* package ‘rgdal’ ...
> 2626#> ** package ‘rgdal’ successfully unpacked and MD5 sums checked
> 2627#> configure: R_HOME: /usr/lib/R
> 2628#> configure: CC: gcc -std=gnu99
> 2629#> configure: CXX: g++
> 2630#> configure: C++11 support available
> 2631#> configure: rgdal: 1.4-3
> 2632#> checking for /usr/bin/svnversion... yes
> 2633#> configure: svn revision: 828
> 2634#> checking for gdal-config... /usr/bin/gdal-config
> 2635#> checking gdal-config usability... yes
> 2636#> configure: GDAL: 1.11.3
> 2637#> checking GDAL version >= 1.11.4... no
> 2638#> configure: error: upgrade GDAL to 1.11.4 or later
> 2639#> ERROR: configuration failed for package ‘rgdal’

I wrote here rather than RHub first because I was unaware of the link (thanks)
and my issue was more if I could just go ahead and submit to CRAN despite this,
 because the problem is not with my package.

Thanks for your response.

Seems like GDAL is too old on our Ubuntu:
https://github.com/r-hub/rhub/issues/258

Will try to fix soon.

FYI,
G.

Hi, which package is this, and how exactly did rgdal fail?

Also, you can report R-hub problems at https://github.com/r-hub/rhub/issues

Thanks,
Gabor

Re: [R-pkg-devel] Package writing to disc

2019-04-24 Thread Uwe Ligges

On 24.04.2019 11:08, Berry Boessenkool wrote:

Hi,

I have a package with some keyboard shortcuts for Rstudio. Several friends and
colleagues asked me to put it on CRAN.
It includes a function to set the keyboard bindings that will write to
~/.R/rstudio/keybindings/addins.json et al.
https://github.com/brry/rskey/blob/master/R/setKeyboardBindings.R
This is not allowed by CRAN policy:
"Packages should not write in the users [...] file system [...]. Limited exceptions
may be allowed in interactive sessions if the package obtains confirmation from the
user."

So if I include readline("Is it OK to write into the '~/.R/rstudio/keybindings'
files? y/n: ")
and explain this behaviour in the submission note, should I be fine to submit
and see what happens?

Yes.

Best,
Uwe Ligges

Thanks ahead,
Berry
