Yes, I think it has happened for at least 10 years. I assume that it doesn’t get looked at unless there is some other problem. It won’t hold up submission: I believe it's just a NOTE to let the kind people helping with submissions find who the maintainer is. Been around for some years, I believe? Hi, Has anyone seen this kind of NOTE when running R CMD CHECK --as-cran? (quote) * checking CRAN incoming feasibility ... NOTE Maintainer: ‘Carl Witthoft ’ New submission (end quote) I've seen this pop up since I switched to Catalina & R 4.X .
