I don't know if anyone outside Logitech has seen a production unit,
 but
my beta has a typical wallwart power supply that is labeled to take
 100
 to 240v, either 50 or 60 hz.

The connector to the mains is a slide-in adaptor, I'm sure that all
sorts of shapes, sizes, and sexes of connector are supported.

My SqueezeBox Duet also had one of those plugs with different slide in
bits for different countries.

I am in New Zealand and thinking of picking one up in the US when I am
there next month so good to know it is potentially the same.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Ship date?

2009-10-03 Thread iisfaq

I am traveling from New Zealand to the US in a tad under 1 Month for 7
days.

I was hoping to order one and have it delivered to the hotel while
there.

This thread is making that sound sort of a no go almost.

I can't pre-order as I need to sent it to a hotel and a few days before
or during my stay may be ok, but incase it turns up earlier or later is
not an option for me.

I hope shipments start soon with Amazon so I can get one while in the
US. Otherwise it is a waiting game until they arrive in New Zealand -
probably 3-6 months knowing how things work here.

Are you using the main EU Logitech Site?
Yeah.
Regardless of whether you start from logitech.com or
logitechsqueezebox.com you get to this site:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/speakers_audio/wireless_music_systems/devices/5847cl=de,de

There you have a button 'Preorder', but you then just get a popup:
Thanks for you interest in Logitech-Products. We will inform you by
e-mail when the product is available in our shop. Please fill in the
needed information ...
and you just leave an email-address.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Can my Duet Controller also control the Radio?

 Great
And a longer answer in case you are wondering:

The Controller can control any and all of the current and previous
players

(details here:
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/HardwareComparison)

The Controller interfaces with either Squeezebox Server (formerly
called Squeezecenter) or MySqueezebox.com (formerly SqueezeNetwork) not
with the player directly. This means that anything supported by SbS is
supported by the Controller.

It is pretty cool to still be able to use an original SliMP3 with a
Controller running the latest software :)

Why would early be a problem? Have the hotel mgr place it in his/her
office? I've done this numerous times on biz trips long before my
actual arrival.
If it does not ship before your arrival date just cancel the pre-order.

I imagine slide on pins will be the same, but the charger itself
certainly won't be. Radio takes 18v, SBR much less than that.

So if you can extrapolate from the beta, the answer is probably yes. I
have no idea what is in the box for US retail sales.

Retail boxed Radios have the same slide-in adapter, but only the US
2-prong one is in the box.
