Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] WiFi connection unstable/lost on three Radios
H, I wonder channel optimization can be turned off? Frankly, I am REALLY tired of this wifi issue. I have wlanpoke working on the two SB radios I have. While it does help, I do miss parts of the news broadcast when the disconnect happens. It is VERY annoying to have it happen right in the middle of an important news article on NPR.:mad: I am ready to make a wifi SSID ONLY for these two SB radios... on my Ruckus R550 access point, with all the fancy stuff turned off and then see if they stay stable. If that also does not work, I am going to try adding my old router back to our home network JUST to feed these two SB radios (but that router always disconnects the radios when the kitchen Microwave runs) Nomen Nescio wrote: > Same problem overhere in the Netherlands with smartwifi pods. [SlimDevices: Radio] Add 2 External HP to my squeezebox Radio
Dear all, I bought a cheap squeezebox radio (40$) and was wondering if it was possible to replace the internal speaker with 2 external speakers? Do you think I can easily put 2 hp of this type ? 38859 It's about sounding my bathroom  +---+ |Filename: MDC64.jpg| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=38859| +---+ julicraps's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16104 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116909 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

And I'm more of an experiment guy. Try it. If it works, great. If not, then maybe explore why, or move to a different plan. *Home:* Pi4B-8GB/pCP8.x/4TB>LMS 8.2.x>Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* rPi4B-4GB/pCP8.x/4TB>LMS 8.2.x>Touch>Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (Radio WIFI) *Office:* Win10(64)>foobar2000 *The Wild: *rPi3B+/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>hifiberry Dac+Pro (LMS & Squeezelite) *Controllers:* iPhone11 & iPadAir3 (iPeng), CONTROLLER, Material Skin, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win10(64) *Files:* -Ripping-: dBpoweramp > FLAC; -Post-rip-: mp3tag, PerfectTunes, TuneFusion; -Streaming:- Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109953 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

No idea what system Australia use. (Terry stated Telstra Australia as his ISP, so I've assumed Aus). But let's move on from this, was just trying to give Terry, a non-techie, some relatively simple clear paths forward in resolving his particular SB Radio wifi issues, which I think has been achieved with the two options suggested, it's now up to him to choose, try and report back for further help if he needs it. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] WiFi connection unstable/lost on three Radios
Thanks Jim. This makes perfect sense...and explains why it works for me. Here in the US (similar in Europe?), our power comes in as a "split phase" with 2 hots (legs/lines), a neutral, and a ground. It's 240vac single phase between the two hots, and two 120vac circuits are formed between each hot and neutral. What they mean is the two powerline devices should be on the same "leg/line group" 38858 In our circuit breaker panel, we have two columns of breakers, A (odd) on the left, and B (even) on the right. Each side is the same leg. So, what the powerline adaptors want is the same leg at a minimum, but circuit (breaker) is ideal. If you think about it, the Ethernet is a modulated signal on a 120vac carrier. It has to travel a distance, and going from one adaptor, through a breaker, back to the panel bus, then back out through another breaker, to the other adaptor. That is not "ideal" but if distances are reasonable, it should work. However, it is is being asked to go back to the panel and over to the other leg/line (through the transformer??) that's what probably won't work. So, identify the breaker(s) for the two outlets to be used and see if the breakers are on the same "side" As an aside, I think these things are real cool and solve allot of people's issues Jim +---+ |Filename: split phase.gif | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=38858| +---+ Redrum's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109953 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] WiFi connection unstable/lost on three Radios
-... ]If you go down either route, there's plenty of people here who can help you get setup once we know which product you've gone for. Hope this helps- Many thanks all. Based on your advice I think the simplest solution is that as the office/study equipment works with wireless signals direct from the router, I can use a powerline adaptor at the router and powerline adaptors with wifi access in the distant bedrooms for tablets and kindles. I have 2 x Nettcom NP505F powerline adaptors but I understand the equivalent with wfi access is discontinued. Any suggestions as to what I should get? Do the adaptors all have to be the same type/brand?
