I think most of us are fine with our radios. I am in a pretty dense
semi-urban environment with lot of electrical noise (everyone seems to
have solar panels), and our 3 Radios work just fine.

[SlimDevices: Radio] Radio acting up

2017-12-25 Thread Julf

After a Christmas Eve playing music synced to my living room Touch, my
kitchen Radio started acting up. I can control it through LMS, but when
I select music through the unit itself, it doesn't actually start
playing the new music, but stays playing the original tracks. The power
button turns off the display, but music keeps playing for quite a while.
My other Radio is working fine, so it doesn't seem to be a LMS issue
(and yes, I have unsynchronized the players).

Ethernet hasn't been a shared media since good old 10Base5 coaxial
cable. You will always have a dedicated physical port in your switch for
any wired connection. For wireless connections, it is your base station
that has to do the vlan.

Does the hospital wi-fi have a captive portal (a web page that you have
to pass through to get access)? If not, it is also possible that it
blocks some ports.

You are right - no true synchronisation, but:

If the radios are in different rooms, just being able to play the same

Unfortunately not. HDMI is a digital standard, so you would need a bunch
of complicated electronics, including an analog-to-digital converter.
The soundbar also has an optical audio input, but the Radio doesn't have
a digital output.
