That sounds a reasonable candidate! I'm guessing you leave your Pi up
for ages, even weeks/months at a time? It can definitely drift off
time. I had a similar problem where listen again listings under the BBC
iPlayer plugin started to disappear - and the root cause of this
appeared to be the time being out.

Actually, I suspect what solved it will have been the *reboot* following
the patch update. as this will resync the time to NTP server.

Rather better, if you tend to leave your Pi up for weeks/months is to go
to piCorePlayer -> Extras -> Schedule CRON Jobs, and add a custom
command to resync time on a weekly basis:

0 0 * * * /usr/bin/getTime.sh

Or, in the same section, you could configure a weekly reboot of
piCorePlayer as an alternative, and slightly more brutal, way of
achieving the same end.

I was always a little disappointed that piCorePlayer doesn't
automatically sync time on a periodic basis - especially as it appears
that time does drift.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Alarm on radio no longer working after 8.0.0 update

2020-11-12 Thread Clausi

I am running LMS 7.9.3 on piCorePlayer 6.1. I downgraded from LMS 8.0
because I thought that it is responsible for the following issue
regarding the alarm behaviour of my Sueezebox radio (but was not):

I use the radio to wake me up in the morning. The alarm is set in the
webpage of the LMS. I specified a radio station to be the alarm sound
and I set the alarm time to be 105 minutes. Now it happens in case of
alarm, that the radio station plays exactly 60 minutes and then stops
and after the default alarm sound (alarm.mp3) starts to play. I tried
several things like resettig the radio to factory conditions, deleting
and renewing the alarm... no change.

In a former installation I had piCorePlayer 6.0 and I guess LMS 7.9.2
installed and it worked just fine. The radio station played 105 minutes
as set in LMS.

Any ideas?

When entering the logs I saw the time of my server was off by two
hours.
Solved it by “patch update“ on PiCorePlayer mainpage.
Thanks for pointing me to the logs!

Do I have to downgrade to 7.9.2 again?

No. I'm using LMS8 myself, and alarms go off every day. Ask my wife.

[SlimDevices: Radio] Alarm on radio no longer working after 8.0.0 update

2020-06-02 Thread FloW.Hamburg

I recently updated my LMS on PiCorePlayer from 7.9.2 to 8.0.0. I patched
both my radios beforehand and everything seemed to be working. The next
morning I noticed my alarm didn't work. I tried setting new alarms
directly on the radios and in LMS, changed the tone from streaming files
to local files and even system tones. I restarted the radios, LMS and
PiCorePlayer multiple times but couldn't get it working again.
For now I'm using a tasker workaround to get up in the morning but also
got a backup alarm clock for this doesn't seem the most reliable
solution.
Do I have to downgrade to 7.9.2 again?
