[RBW] Re: help from 68cm Rambouillet or Redwood owners?

be good enough -- I'm replacing the fork and don't have access to the

If it helps at all, i have a 65cm Redwood, and since i'm home and
could measure, i did - 23.5cm for the headtube. Would that make the
 68cm version 3cm longer then?

Thanks, Bill, for measuring your bike. Since headtube and seattube
aren't quite parallel on these models, I would guess the measurement
would be just slightly less for the headtube (steeper)? But assuming
the 65 and 68 models really are 65 and 68 (not always the case!), it
seems like the headtube would be about 26.5cm.

Thanks again: that's helpful. Can anyone confirm that the headtube
does indeed measure 26.5cm?

Sounds interesting. Any idea about price/availabilty? Are deposits
being taken? I was really hot last year for an orange QB but couldn't
find one in a 56cm. Maybe I'll have to settle for a silver one.

I know that the batch of silver Quickbeams was delayed, and I'm not sure if
it had sold out - I'd give 'em a buzz over in Walnut Creek to confirm.

IIRC, Grant had indicated that the Singolo would be the last model done.
With Betty and Sam slated for April, I'd suspect mid to late summer.

[RBW] Re: Riding my Romulus up Mt Tam tomorrow (12/20)

2008-12-19 Thread Mike

Ray, have fun on your Tam ride. I miss Tam at times. I've ridden Tam
in the rain, super thick fog and even spotted patches of ice but I
can't recall riding it with snow on it. Take your camera and post some
pictures if you can.

Come to think of it. The last time I rode Tam was on a visit to SF
this past Feb. You and I talked very briefly as I was heading back
into town on the GG Bridge. I was worked. But damn that was a fun day.

It's been snowing here in Portland daily since Sunday but with little
accumulation. It's the first time I've ever pedaled in the snow and
really enjoyed it so far. it's a little nerve wracking on the busier
streets.

Hi, Mike - Actually, that is Franklyn who is headed up Tam tomorrow.  I asked
what time he's leaving because I might be able to squeeze it in if he'll have
the company.  I remember meeting you on the Golden Gate Bridge.  That was a
nice day.  If I get up there tomorrow, I will take pix and post a couple.  I
normally ride to the top of Tam on each New Year's Day, rain or shine, hangover
or not. But we leave Sunday for a couple of weeks and I'll miss my annual good
luck ride to the summit.  Maybe I can do it a week early and the Romulus Gods
will still find it favorable and bless me for another year!

Enjoy your holiday.
