[RBW] Re: Bike shops/offroad trails in Duluth, MN?
Pete, You hit the nail on the head for about what I'm looking for. I rode the CAMBA trails a few weeks ago for the first time, and that's what I'm seeking around Duluth. The area around CAMBA is a little out of range for me today, though. I suppose I could drive there, but I'd rather spend more time on the bike. I'm actually up here watching a triathlon my friend is in and training for the Chequamegon 40 (training...that's funny). I found a few sites about cycling in the area online, and there is no shortage of riding around these parts. With that, I'm off. Also, thanks for the tip, Jim. Twin Ports opens in a few minutes and I'm swinging by. I try to frequent locally owned places that are support the philosophy and attitude toward riding we discuss on this board. Any recommendations for Duluth area off road/ fire trail riding that avoids the hardcore MTB attitude in general is appreciated (not trying to make a statement, I race my mountain bike sometimes. Just not in the mood for that this weekend.) Thanks, Paul S. --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. [RBW] Front Derailleur Question
I am having persistent trouble on my Hilsen with the FD. I keep dropping the chain when I shift up to the big chainring. When I try to adjust the limit screw, in quarter turn increments, I either can't get into the big chain ring or wind up dropping it if I don't shift very gingerly. I have the standard Soma FD that came with the bike. Any suggestions? Joel --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. [RBW] Re: Front Derailleur Question
Hi Joel, Check the height of the derailleur with respect to the large chainring. Make sure that it is 1-3 mm or so above the teeth of the big ring, but not much more than that. Also 1/4 turn increments on the limit screw, in my experience, can have large effects on the actual travel of the FD so try smaller adjustments than that. Also check the angle of the outer plate of the FD. It should be parallel to the big chainring or the front edge turned ~1 degree in toward the frame. I'd check all these first and then see what happens, Joe Date: Sat, 1 Aug 2009 08:28:33 -0700 Subject: [RBW] Front Derailleur Question From: soloman...@aol.com To: rbw-owners-bunch@googlegroups.com I am having persistent trouble on my Hilsen with the FD. [RBW] Re: Middle of the Road Shimano
The talk about LX hubs is to make sure there is enough grease and readjust the bearings, both of which can be done at the same time! Often they come a little dry and a little tight. This adjustment will make hub life approach infinity, assuming adjustments repeated as needed of course.
