Re: [RBW] Re: Eleven speeds on a ten-speed hub (It works!)

2016-01-09 Thread Kevin Lindsey
After much delay, I finished my wife's Hilborne and gingerly tested the
11-speed-to-10-speed hack. Much to my surprise, it works. Removing one of
the gear rings keeps the spacing correct, so the transmission thinks it's
still got eleven gears in the back, but the now-10-speed cluster fits
perfectly on the 135 hub. Voila!
Next step: convincing her that gears are a good thing.

Google Photos now offers unlimited storage at "high quality" but not
original quality if your device has high megapixel count.

I have been using Flickr since they offered a terabyte free at original
resolution, but my general online presence is more Google integrated. So
now I upload to both from my phone.

[RBW] Re: I Bailed Off Flicker

2016-01-09 Thread Esteban
I'm with David. Flickr remains the best way to archive and search photos. I
loved it when it was also a place of community and active viewing.
Everybody left for IG, which is "in the moment" but doesn't have much space
to dwell on photos and view in an archival fashion. Its disappointing in
the regard, but fun as a form of social media. Flickr was a blast up until
a couple of years ago. I was careful about my "favorites" because I would
return to hem for ideas, fun, and reflection.

Oh, well. My computer-based bicycle activity has really dwindled to a drip
(including my participation here - which I still read and enjoy, just don't
post so much).

[RBW] Re: Show me your Garage/Workshop/Cave/Storage Spaces

2016-01-09 Thread tim.cl...@nike.com
I've been living with a sub-optimal workspace -- until now.

Over the holidays I finally broke the logjam of resistance and remade the
space.

Totally digging it. Still a few more tools to source but it now has good
bones!

[RBW] Let's see the best of your 2015

2016-01-09 Thread hsmitham
Hi Group,

I don't think I've seen a post on the best of your images from 2015. So
let's see your culled images.

Sorry to hear Deacon Patrick closed his Flickr account because of certain
tootsie fetishes.

Here's my submission
.

And here's hoping 2016 exceeds 2015.
