[RBW] ISO* 126 mm bottom bracket *(Not **that** ISO; JIS!)

2019-06-08 Thread Patrick Moore
First, a naive question: Does the Ritchey Logic 110/74 triple take a JIS
taper? Frankly, I've never paid much attention to the taper; just shoved
the crank on and torqued it down, with no problems except a few times.

At any rate, I guess my Phil 130 is JIS, at least, I didn't discuss taper
with staff when I ordered it, and JIS is the default for square taper,
right?

Anyway, I'm looking for a 126 in Phil or SKS/Rene Herse, and hope to find
one in excellent (note that: "excellent") condition for less than full
retail.

127 mm if price is right.

Phil or SKS, please (which do you prefer, and why?) tho' might also
consider an as-new SunTour with Grease Guard if they come in a 126; don't
recall.

If the swap goes well, will have a VG 130 Phil (JIS?!) for sale. Or trade
me for the 130 on spec, me paying shipping both ways in either event ...

Tx.

The color combo looks great on your Betz and is so lively, like you! I'm glad
it's everything you wanted.

One pic of your bike is not turned. Did you hold your phone differently
(portrait vs landscape) when taking that pic vs the others? I've had that issue
too on my phone, so I download, review, and rotate on my PC, if needed. I
don't have an iPad, so don't know if it works differently on that hardware.

[RBW] Re: Multimodal Traveling: Rolling your Riv onto a Bus

2019-06-08 Thread Ana Candela
Hi Kellie,

No extra fees for the BoltBus, and no reservation needed. It is first come
first served, which can be problematic on trips when there’s lots of luggage,
and people cut in front to put their bag first, so you have to move them out of
the way to be able to fit your bike.

One thing I found on my return trip was that there’s an extra compartment.
Another bicycle arrived later, the front compartments were not quite full, but
would’ve required a lot of moving around. The driver popped that third door
open. I’m doing that next time, because I came to find a duffle bag on top of
my front wheel 

Also I remember the time we were three bikes, and the driver wanted to place
one on top of the other, and I said “No, we’re not!”. There was enough room;
just people don’t want to slide their stuff all the way to the opposite side.
It hasn’t happened that there has not been room. I wonder if anyone else has
had that experience and what happens then. Maybe have your bike rinkoed as a
backup plan...

—what kickstand do you use?
—which rear rack?
