[RBW] #ClemWaiting

2019-08-06 Thread Bicycle Belle Ding Ding!
I’m so excited for all of you (or your family members as Paul and Dorothy have
it) to receive your Clems! Your wait is nearly done. I inherited my
mother-in-law’s Clementine this summer and I have been riding the wheels off of
it and IT IS SO FUN. I just fly around on that bike, so don’t listen to anyone
who thinks the Clems are stout and sluggish. I FLY. I love everything about the
bike; it’s practical and beautiful and classy.

Anyway, you have so much to look forward to that I can hardly stand it. Please,
please report back here and tell us how your beautiful Clems are treating you.

2019-08-06 Thread Leaf Slayer
Hey, I got some, Shimano Dura Ace. Only problem is I doubt I can get them
out to you before I leave for back East on Sat due to work. If you're not
in a rush, I can get them out to you on the 20th when I'm back here...
opening the box with the frame I just purchased from you...

[RBW] WTB/WTT Paul Thumbies

2019-08-06 Thread Michael Mann
Need a set of Shimano compatible Paul Thumbies for a project, for 25.4 bars
(Albatross).
In order of preference I'm hoping for:
1 - silver
2 - black
3 - I'd also consider a set of 9-speed Microshift thumb shifters.

I can trade straight across a set of Shimano 9-speed bar-end shifters in
excellent condition (yes I'm putting the same style shifters on the
Thumbies, but I'm stocked up on enough of these to last the rest of my
life.)

I also have a set of Suntour bar-ends (friction) and a set of the old
friction Shimano spring-loaded bar ends if that's more your thing.

I've also got a whole bunch of 6 & 7 speed cleaned and lubed freewheels.

Mike

Another Legolas excellence, then. Good to know.

Brian: Thanks for the comparison. Can you, or anyone else, describe
how handling differs? In particular, does the Leglolas exhibit as much
 as I
assume that the Roadeo does that signature Grant combination of
straight-line stability and quick but seamless turn-in?

Also, how does tubing compare between the L and the R? (I would fit
a 58 R, which I think has slightly lighter tubing than the larger
 sizes.)

Overall, would you (all) buy a Leglolas or a Roadeo for principally
 pavement use?

I think there was a discussion, started by Lum maybe, a while back
asking about the tubing differences. Heck, maybe on I-bob list. I cannot
recall the differences though. Both are fantastic riding machines. The
Legolas was a tad big, and I wish the Roadeo was 62 cm. Oh well.

BTW - the color scheme of Brian's last Legolas is the same as my 1996?

I replaced my Roadeo with a (used) Legolas and it can run a wider
tire. Roadeo maxed out ~35mm. The Legolas is currently running a 42mm,
could probably fit a 46 or so...

[RBW] OT: Question about where to go (online) for Large Format Film Photography equipments

2019-08-06 Thread John W
You could try here:
https://www.largeformatphotography.info/

Wistas are still valued today. You shouldn’t have much of a problem selling it.

[RBW] OT: Question about where to go (online) for Large Format Film Photography equipments

2019-08-06 Thread franklyn
Hi, folks,

I enjoyed reading about the film ride hosted by Rivelo in Portland last
week. I have been assisting my parents in their efforts to downsize and
de-clutter. My father asks me to help him sell a Wista 45 large format film
camera. My camera knowledge is fairly limited to digital and don't know
where I could go to find interest for the camera besides eBay. Knowing that
there are people interested in film photography here, I thought I would ask
to see if folks have some ideas.

Thanks,
Franklyn

[RBW] Re: FS: miscellaneous tidbits

2019-08-06 Thread Joe Bernard
Ah dang, I missed the saddlebag handles that I always think I need then don't
use and sell. It was my time to not use them again!
