Bump-- the Cheviot is still available.

I am more inclined to part it out now. I'll ask $750 for f/f/hs. If
anyone is interested in any of the parts listed above please PM me.

I would also be interested in trading a 59 Clem H frameset for this
frameset if anyone has one sitting around...

Actually in the SF Bay Area half mits without gloves under are the bees knees.
Keep your fingers from getting cold when you start out, and easily slip you
fingers out if they start to get too warm. For descents or clouds blocking
nature’s heat lamp that start to chill your didgits, just slip em back into the
mitts. Brilliant I tell you, brilliant.

Last winter I picked up a set of Bike Iowa's Pogie Lites for my commute.
Not cold enough here(Brooklyn) for full pogies and these keep enough
wind/rain/snow off and create a nice warm micro climate inside enough that
I can wear thin wool liners rather than something thicker that's going to
either soak thru or loose dexterity.

Thanks, Deacon Patrick. You might be right... thanks for the advisement. I

left behind, that could be the culprit, but I rode for 5 years on Marathon

Here it is again:

Long shot, but does anyone have a ready-to-trash RH Nachez Pass or
similar-sized tire available for cheap or for postage only? I only
want it to mount temporarily to gauge how much more room my Rivs would
need to accomodate a ~45 mm tire.

Thanks.

I've not had any problem with the road-bar-width clamps slipping on

[RBW] Re: Thin Gripster alternatives?

2019-12-10 Thread 'jinxed' via RBW Owners Bunch
Just wanted to throw my hat in the Race Face Chester ring. I've got the
VP's on two bikes and though no real issues, I've had to tinker with them
both. The Chesters have been great and get the most abuse and foul
conditions being on my dedicated MTB. I did find them almost too grippy,
but just kept taking pins out till they were juuust right. Nearly half I
think.

I will admit to taking a real shine to some Spank Spyke pedals after giving
them a test ride on Pondero's Bantam ADV bike. Something about the shape of
the platform felt ever so slightly better to me. I didnt spend enough time
scrutinizing the differences to my pedals to say what it was, but it felt
more natural. Basically I didnt notice the pedal underfoot. But at @ $120 I
could outfit every bike I have with chesters.
