Hey all. Looking for a local-ish sale on this. The build is pretty
Riv'd out. Everything in the picture is included outside of the bottle
cages and Brooks. I'll throw in a Selle Italia Titanium Flite if you like.
Fresh & lightly shellaced bar tape. Here's a list of parts I think are of
 note.
*Velocity Synergy wheel set(Suntour XC 9000 fh/Shimano Ultegra rh)
 w/wide range 8 speed cassette
*New-ish Rivendell Roly Poly front and Ruffy Tuffy back tires
*Shimano Claris rd/Shimano 600 tricolor fd
*Shimano 8 speed bar ends dialed in perfectly for indexing but
 switchable to friction
 *44cm Nitto Mark's Bar/Shimano BR-4000 levers/Nitto Technomic Tallux
 Stem
*Sugino Compact Double Crankset w/MKS Lambda pedals
*Shimano 600 Tricolor Brakes with a 2 sets of NOS pads
It's easily the best feeling fast bike I've ever owned but it's time to
 let it go. $1000 even.

I'm happy to work out shipping so long as the buyer is willing to cover
all costs. I'll post some more pics of it in the sun tomorrow. Thanks

[RBW] Rivendell rider sighted on Coleman Valley Road today...

2021-05-08 Thread reynoldslugs
Grinding eastbound on Coleman Valley today (heading to Occidental), my
buddy and I saw a fit young guy, shirt unbuttoned and enjoying the sun - he
was headed West to the ocean. I caught a glimpse of Riv head lugs and a
nice bike.

Nice to see a young rider enjoying the sun and Rivendell mojo...

Who do you suppose that was?

Me and my buddy Tom - two old timers, me on my steel Rodriguez, Tom on his
carbon Specialized.

[RBW] WTB: Nitto F-16 Front Bag Support

2021-05-08 Thread Roberta

As far as I can tell, these are sold out in the states (I've ordered from
two places that have them "in stock" just to hear that they don't). Anyone
have one? Shipped to 19154. In the second link, the application and the
bag are almost identical to what I'll be using it for. I do not have the
tools, the talent or the inclination for a DYI job. (thanks to John H. who
let me know about this--it's exactly what I want)

I'd like to get my hands on an orange 60cm Riv Joe Appaloosa frame and fork

clearance and a single top tube. I know the new ones are dropping soon,
but if someone has one they want to sell, hit me up.

2021-05-08 Thread David B
Frame pumps and Gravelking tires are sold. Some interest on the brake
levers - so they may sell as well, but I'll include them in the list below.
I've reached out to Matthew off-list.
Feel free to reach out off-list if you're interested in something just in
case a bundle deal doesn't materialize.
Thanks,
David

Remaining items:
1. Nitto Rack Struts - 12cm, pair, appear to be new - $6

2. Nitto Rack Struct - 18cm, pair, appear to be new - $8

3. Nitto Rack Struts - 39cm, pair, appear to be used, but are nice and
straight - $14

6. Suntour Aero Road Brake Levers - came on my Redwood when I bought it
used many years ago - these feel slightly different in hand than Shimano
levers, feel more like a non-aero in a good way, I think they're an Alpha
Cyclone series, if that existed - $25

7. Vee Rubber V12 Tires - 29 x 1.95, used, some tread wear, but lots of
wear still left in them, had these on my Clem when it was setup as a kid
hauler - $10 pair

8. Maxxis Ardent Tires - tan sidewalls, 29 x 2.4", I briefly swapped this
in on my Clem for more rough stuff - $40

10. GearClamp - these:
https://www.rivbike.com/collections/cassettes/products/gear-clamp-ss - but
a PAIR for $20

[RBW] Re: Losco vs Albatross 6mm Additional Sweep back--an additional 6cm

2021-05-08 Thread 'Joel S' via RBW Owners Bunch
With a long stem it would be fine but for me I think it would bring the end
to near me. I don’t hold the bars at the ends and find the Choco gives me
added stretch over the Albatross, but this would be for a different usage.
They are raised up enough for good clearance I would think.

Thanks for the info.

[RBW] Re: Basket Rack with Panniers?

2021-05-08 Thread Thomas Lawn
I wouldn't expect any huge issues with popping a set of panniers on that
rack, but you'll definitely want to make sure that things are secure and
you have a backup for anything that could fail catastrophically. I would
use a strap from the rack to the handlebar or headtube to keep the rack
from falling forward if the fork crown mount slips/fails, and I would use a
bungee or long voile strap around the bag to keep it attached to the rack
if you were going somewhere really bouncy. I'd also be pretty wary of those
dropout strut mounts on the Basket Rack, note that Riv says 20lb maximum,
and keep a close eye on those connections to ensure they don't slip.

Having used panniers on the side of a Specialized pizza rack, which mounts
in a similar position, I'll say that my personal preference will always be
to mount the panniers lower on the front. Having them up high like this
definitely makes the weight more obvious, especially when stopped or
turning.

Cheers,
Thomas in Portland

I will also consider a straight sale of my 1 Hurricane Ridge.
