Well there you go - the Woom 2 hanging in my garage is pink. Like they say

Both Wooms are my 3 year old granddaughter's. My daughter currently has
three bikes in her garage. Makes me proud.

The "2" was on the first Atlantii, to acknowledge that the name had been
used in the past by Bridgestone

I have the old Atlantis page yonder -

There are a few scans of the pertinent flyers.

[RBW] FS / WTT - Nitto R10 for Nitto Campee R20

2023-05-04 Thread Chris Copeland
Hi all, I've got a Nitto R10 bag support that has some signs of use. Really
enjoyed using this as a large saddle bag support/rest. However, I want to
be able to run a pannier on the Bassi Hog's Back this is mounted on. If
you're interested in the R10, great! Here's the link so you can see a
photo.

If you're interested in a trade, lets talk! thanks, hope something can work

Re: [RBW] Double 1x

2023-05-04 Thread Brendan Aanes
Some recent playing with a Rival 1 rear derailleur leads me to theorize
that, clutch aside, the way it's different from a traditional RD designed
for a double or triple is that it is built for a large cog, so the pulleys
are lower, but has a shorter cage than a double would, so it can't wrap as
much chain.

For example the Rival 1 "long cage" looks like it has about the same cage
length as a "medium cage" Rival double derailleur, because it's taking up a
similar amount of chain as a double with an 11-32 cassette would. That
whole cage assembly sits lower to the ground to accommodate an 11-42
cassette.

Good to know it's working well for you with a double!

Pam, I'm with you on how you handle route mapping. Even though I have RWGPS
I'm more comfortable with a cue sheet in front of me. The visibility aspect
is important to me as well; thanks for including an image of your display.
I would like to join your zoom call on May 18. Thank you for offering that!

[RBW] Re: Rivendell paint color repetition: Your thoughts

2023-05-04 Thread RichS
Saw my first Platypus in the wild this week . . . Mermaid paint. Even from
a 50 or so yard distance you can tell it's a Rivendell when you see it. The
Riv color palette certainly plays a part in that. My impression of the
color is it's a takeoff on the Atlantis green. Keeping with the water
theme, there you go. Gorgeous bike by the way. VO hammered fenders for
added sparkle.

 Eric,
I seem to recall being attracted to the "Butterscotch" Saluki (?) way
back when. Though I'm not sure I ever saw one in the wild. I do like the
metallics being used now, at least what I see online. Like the new light
metallic yellow on the Homer (or Sam's?). Hard to keep up.
I must say though, when it came time to purchase a new Sam for a
dedicated touring bike back in 2015 or so, i opted for Black & Cream like
yours. I knew how a touring bike could take a beating. And despite being a
fine artist who has a huge stash of model car paints to mix almost exact
colors, given enough time, I have never been stumped worse than trying to
touch up my first early model metallic orange Sam. I think it was a
two-stage paint (transparent orange over metallic gold?). That proved
impossible for me to match to my liking.
