[RBW] FS: (2) 1990 Bridgestone RB-1 60cm (62cm catalog size)

2022-03-28 Thread James Heller-Jackson
Hi All,

I had a brief obsession last year with RB-1s (they are divine) but can no
longer justify keeping both this complete and frameset sitting in my
garage. I am down to 1 bike, an 80s Specialized Expedition for all my
commuting/hauling needs riding on LA city streets. 1990 was the first year
with the longer top tube, with both frames the same size at 62cm ctt ST and
60cm ctc TT.
This is a slightly unique situation so keep reading:
The complete bike is cosmetically and mechanically in very good shape
except for a small indent in the non-driveside lower chainstay (I
photographed as best I could). The previous owner bought it from the
original owner who had it hanging in his garage since the 90s. The
chainstay dent happened in the original owner's possession. Both the
previous owner and I had many happy miles on the bike with no issue or
visible change in damage. It is very minimal, and in my eyes,
non-terminal, but everyone has different thresholds for comfortability on
things like this, I understand.
This brings me to the next part of this offering - in this package is an
additional 1990 62cm frame in black. I bought the frame thinking I'd move
the parts over and make a singlespeed from the White/Purple frame, but I
never got around to it and moved on. This frame has some paint damage, but
I touched it up very carefully with an almost exact colormatch - the only
evidence of paint damage is seen by texture, mostly on the top tube (which
I tried to photograph in direct sunlight). The frame has been treated with
framesaver and the Tange levin headset has been serviced with bearing races
in good shape. This also comes with a 27.0 Nitto S65 seatpost with minimal
wear.

Complete build:
Suntour GPX Cranks, derailleurs
Suntour Accushift Shifters - indexed to 8 speed (Yes, the additional click
on the 7 sp shifter is being used and is extremely crisp and accurate)
Velo Orange 27.0 seatpost
Deda Elementi Special 44 ctc handlebars
Nitto Technomic 100cm stem
Selle Italia Flite saddle
Shimano 105 hubs laced to H Plus Son rims (I would say 200 mi on these, max)
Vittoria Rubino Tires - 28mm
Yes, there is a "Ridestoned" sticker on the side of the top tube. This was
put on by previous owner and I kept it for the laugh. Easily removable.

I also have an almost new Brooks c15 cutout (all black) I'd be happy to
give you a great deal on. In addition, I have almost a full build-worth of
parts that were intended for the black RB1 frame - these center around a
dura ace 8/9 sp drivetrain and a few other odds and ends. I would be happy
to discuss these at advantageous pricing if interested in this package.

PHOTOS

- *$750 OBO* for both the frame (with seatpost) and complete bike -
Local Pickup only in Los Angeles (I'm happy to drive up to 1 hour to meet
in the middle). Offered on here before going on CL, FB, etc. Let me know
if you have any questions - I'm more than happy to answer or take
additional photos.

[RBW] FS: Rivish Parts from garage clear-out

2022-03-28 Thread James Heller-Jackson
Hi All,

Doing some garage cleanout so I can follow my other passion for a while and
build out a woodshop. I am local to Los Angeles, but happy to ship. If
shipping is needed, to keep it simple all items are an additional $8 for
shipping in cont. US unless otherwise noted. Prices are listed, but let me
know if you have a different price in mind, I will in no way be offended.
All items will be shipped within two days of receiving payment, paypal or
venmo preferred:

PHOTOS

1. Brooks Professional Honey Saddle - Very good condition - I bought this
on Ebay as seller listed the saddle did not work for them - I received it
with the small watermarks you see on the top of the saddle. I used it for
approximately 2 miles as I was trying different leather and cambium saddles
- $135 OBO + shipping

2. Shimano SL-BS77 9 Speed bar end shifters - I bought these to set up with
an XTR derailleur but found it hard for myself to move away from friction
shifting as a commuter. Some scuffs as pictured, fully functional - $65
OBO + shipping

3. Shimano Deerhead derailleur set - Both fully functional, I was planning
a classic build but ended up going a different direction. Signs of wear,
28.6 clamp on FD - $75 + shipping

4. Campagnolo Daytona 10sp shifter set - These are famed for being able to
use as is with an 8 speed drivetrain and a 9 speed drivetrain with "Hubbub"
routing - it all has to do with cable pull and cassette pitch as seen here
.

I was drawn to it for the more classic look it offers over shimano
brifters. These were puchased locally as NOS, and I just added new Campy
clamps as pictured. Alas, I have friction bar ends now on my one and only
bike - $140 + shipping

5. NEW Gravelking Slick tanwall 700c x 28mm - Brand new, in the process of
selling the Bridgestone they were intended for - $65 + $10 shipping

6. Gravelking SK+ Black, 700c x 38mm - These were intended for use on my
commuter but the knobs gave me a little too close of clearance for
comfort. 20 miles on these, maximum - $60 + $10 shipping

7. Ritchey Logic Triple Crank, VGC - Some scrapes from use, but in very
good condition. Logos almost completely untouched (which is rare from what
I've seen). Some wear on middle ring - current rings are 46, 36 with 26
granny - $150 + $12 shipping

Please let me know if you have any questions, I'm happy to answer. Happy
riding!

James

[RBW] FS: Brown Gilles Berthoud Aspin Saddle

2021-03-01 Thread James Heller-Jackson
Hi All,

Thought I was going to give this saddle a go, but alas, build plans change.
I bought it from someone else unused (looks like rails haven't been
touched at all) and haven't mounted it myself. Please see photos linked
below, there are a few VERY small imperfections from being stored, but no
signs of being ridden. Hope this finds someone who will show it off the
way it deserves. Asking $190 shipped through USPS to CONUS. Let me know
if you have any questions - can also email pictures if the link is somehow
(always) finnicky or it's simply easier to view in an email.

[RBW] WTB: Dynamo light

2021-02-06 Thread James Heller-Jackson
Purchased my first wheelset with a dynamo hub and looking for a light to
complete my set up. Open to anything anyone is trying to part with, with a
preference toward b/schmidt. Not sure if anyone has anything laying
around but figured I'd put it out there in the ethos. Thanks in advance!
