Looking for some insight to bike riding in Long Beach, CA. I will be in town for a few days this week and would like to get out and ride a bit. I won't have my bike with me. So first things, anywhere I can rent a decent bike? Next, any good ride suggestions? Would love any insight. The AHH has been a great bike. Hardly a complaint. I do feel some slight flex when I load it down for s24o's. I have some 35 Panaracer T - SERV's on it and it handles well on most surfaces I have tried. I am looking to ride more trails and fire roads with the Atlantis. Trying to decide on tires now. I put some Schwalbe Little Big Bens I had laying around on it - for the time being. Considering leaving fenders off. At some point I'll put my Albastache's on and take off the Dirt Drops. Immediately put a rack and basket on the front. Will probably throw a rack on the back soon. That is where I am at with it. Any input appreciated. I picked it up last week and it is now at it's new home in Indianapolis. Seller was super nice. I have been looking for one for a while. Nice to find one semi-locally - almost had a seller ship one from California last fall. It seems to be getting along with my AHH quite nicely. [RBW] Owning an AHH and an Atlantis
I was curious if anyone on the boards own both the Atlantis and an AHH? If so, do you feel like you get sufficient use out of both bikes? [RBW] Ideal AHH Wheelset
Hello All, My name is Michael and I am new to the group and from Indianapolis. I recently bought an A Homer Hilsen from Dick at the Country Bike Shop in Ohio. I am considering switching over my custom wheelset from my touring ride to the AHH. My custom wheelset is a Phil Wood Cassette hub laced to a Mavic a719 rim and up front I have a Schmidt SON hub laced to a Mavic a719. The AHH came with a stock wheelset - Shimano LX hubs. I think want to have dyname lighting on the AHH and want to have my Phil Hub on back, but want to run this change past the bunch. Will I be giving anything up (speed, handling, feel, ect) by switching out the current wheel set? Is the Mavic a719 to much of a touring rim for the AHH?
