[RBW] Susie 53cm vs. Gus 54cm headtube length
Hello! If you have a 53cm Susie or a 54cm Gus, can you please measure the headtube length and let me know what it is? I'm 5'11 and own a 56cm Susie 29'er which I use as my daily upright ride to work and groceries. I love it so much, and I'm trying to figure out if I can go a size down and build up a slightly more aggressive 650B hill bike for fun as well. Thank you! Hello! Does anyone have a solution for a quick release saddle on a Rivendell Susie? The saddle clamp is integrated with a hex bolt, but I'd like to make it QR so the saddle can go up and down and shared with people of different heights at my office easily. Any ideas? Thank you! Re: [RBW] Re: How do you ship yer Riv?
Hello Jay/Joe, Thanks for your replies. I love the look of Bike Fridays and have wondered how they ride. I used to have a Brompton, which was excellent if I wasn't going to ride for more than a few hours, and never offroad — it was a blast in Paris and I used to carry it into Museums and they'd check it for me! But I'm so addicted to my Atlantis right now and it's high handlebars and big fat tires for dirt trails, that I want to bring it with me to the Azores in February (yes, you can still go to the Azores after a COVID test, and it's inexpensive too). I don't know if I want to do the S thing, and unsure such a long wheelbase will work with one anyway. So I'm going to have to cough up the $150 I think. This really expensive case <https://www.evocsports.com/BIKE-TRAVEL-BAG-PRO/100406100> seems to allow wheelbases up to 130mm... which would give me about 1cm to spare if true. Might order one to see if it will work if no better ideas come up here. Love. Hello All. I am planning a trip out west to help take care of my parents, and I’d like to take my long wheelbase Atlantis and my wife’s Clem, as baggage on the plane or by shipping them UPS.The wheelbases are so long they appear not to fit in most normal bike travel boxes. Hello Brian. That's awesome about your daughter, it seems like we went through the same process. My daughter was in there with the rubber gloves for a couple hours, which was amazing to watch. And yes, it's cool how their creative opinions drive the final look. The great thing about bikes is it's one of the last mechanical objects in the world you can build out of individual components. Definitely adds a lot to the creative process. On Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 9:27:49 AM UTC-5 Brian Campbell wrote: > Paul, > > Great story and a wonderful project.
