I can't seem to figure out how to PM you Nathan on the new Google groups
(reply to author is greyed out), but I'm interested in your Clem H.

Thanks,

Ryan

[RBW] Re: 59cm Atlantis (current model)

2020-06-15 Thread Ryan Olson
Hi Bryan,

FWIW, I was corresponding with Will at Riv HQ about the Atlantis and he
said that the standover is 87 cm with a 2.1 inch tire.

[RBW] Re: FS: 62cm Light Blue Appaloosa Frame

2018-10-02 Thread Ryan Olson
Thanks guys! I had mine set up like that with a front medium and rear
large basket. I thought that worked well since I used it mostly for
commuting and shopping apart from the joy rides. I also had a large
saddlesack, but I was always nervous someone would steal it. I like being
able to take my bags in with me.

[RBW] WTB: 58cm Appaloosa Frame

2018-08-16 Thread Ryan Olson
Anyone out there happen to have a 58cm Appa frame they are looking to sell? I
have a 62cm, but it's a little snug in the shorts and I'd like to size down.

Thanks,

Ryan

[RBW] Re: choco norms

2018-07-06 Thread Ryan Olson
They are definitely more upright than 'staches. I find that I can get
suitably aero on the choco's by grabbing the front of the bends and resting
my forearms on the swept back part (I didn't cut any off), but not really
meant for that type of use I think. I was actually looking at other types
of bars that fit mtb brake levers that allow for a more forward position,
but not quite like drops; Soma Lauterwasser, Sparrow (upside down) or the
new Billie bars seem perfect, they're just out of stock, maybe even an
albatross upside down. Seems like that is the beauty of quill stems and a
semi-forward bar - you could adjust the bar height with one of those
mentioned above to give you a more or less forward position, but still have
the luxury of upright if you want just by adjusting the height of the stem,
which doesn't take that long.

[RBW] Riv Odds/Ends/Accessories to Add to an Order.

I second the lip balm! I would get the pine tar soap more often except for the
fact that my wife doesn't like the smell. Boo! The bandanas, reflective tape,
triangles and ankle strap (which is on sale now) are all good to have around
too.

Yes, indeed, it is a very smooth ride.
Not quite a Riv, but a great ride nonetheless. Handlebars are nice and high.
Very responsive and stable.

[RBW] FS: SOMA ES

2018-07-05 Thread Ryan Olson
Hi there,

I am selling my SOMA ES road bike since I seem to only ride my Appaloosa
now. It is in excellent condition. Only ridden it a handfful of times.
I've replaced the drops with Rivendell Noodles, 48cm wide. Tires are
Rivendell Jack Brown (Blues) 33's. I can also replace the plastic pedals
shown with nice silver Velo Orange ones if you would like. Sugino crank.
SRAM setup with STI shifting. I would prefer local pickup, but will
negotiate shipping costs if you don't live here. Asking $700. Feel free
to email with questions.

>From the SOMA website:

-Tange Prestige heat-treated butted CrMo steel front triangle; butted CrMo
rear end
- Road sport geometry
- Rear rack & fender mounts
- Designed with 57mm reach caliper brakes in mind. Fits some 32c tires with
fenders
- Steel fork
- 1-1/8" size headtube - w/ extra extension so you need less spacers
- 27.2mm post size

Thanks,

Ryan
