Thanks Nate!
Yes, I have 2.35" Knobby Nicks and Magic Mary's on the 56 cm 650b so G Ones
measuring 2.4" fitting I believe.
In my response to Karl I mentioned a 58 cm Atlantis that also differs from
my and Nate's 56's in that it was Toyo made, 700c.
I'm trying to get a finger on its max tire width. The latest Atlantis
seems to max out at 700c x 2.2"

Re: [RBW] FS: MUSA Atlantis. 56 cm / 650b

2020-04-24 Thread Nate in Oakland
I’d like to say that I own this exact frame and it is excellent. Here are some
pluses:
-Excellent tire clearance. I’m running 650x2.3 in tires and maybe have room
for fenders.
-Looks. Almost flat top tube and chain stays that are longer than older
models, but not super long like the current ones. Also features my fav
Rivendell lug set. Head tube lugs are more ornate than the newer version.
-Ride. The bike is fun and lively unloaded, but loaded is where it really
shines. I’ve done some heavy loaded touring on mine and it was just a dream.
I guess this is a given with the Atlantis.

I waited over a year for mine and paid full American prices for the frame and
I’ve felt that it was worth it. This is a steal!

Re: [RBW] FS: MUSA Atlantis. 56 cm / 650b

2020-04-02 Thread Matthew P
Here are some rough measurements made with a tape measure on this Waterford
Atlantis.
I give the measurement from the Riv 2017 geo chart in parentheses when
available.
Assume any discrepancies are my own error.

seat tube: 56 cm (vs. 56 cm)
top tube: 57 cm (vs. 57.7 eff. tt)
down tube: 62.25 cm
chain stay: 47.25 cm (vs. 47.5 cm)

Here are the numbers for this frame pulled from that Riv geo chart I
originally attached:

frame: Atlantis
size: 56cm/650b
bb drop, mm: 67
top tube slope: 3
rear hub space, mm: 135
stand over, cm: 79.76
st angle: 71.5
ht angle: 71
rake, cm: 5.2
eff. tt, cm: 57.7
front center: 61.76
chain stay, cm: 47.5
wheel size: 584/650b
max tire size: 650b x 2.1"
eff. brake reach: -
brake style: canti/v
double tt?: no
stack, mm: 583
reach, mm: 381

[RBW] FS: MUSA Atlantis. 56 cm / 650b

2020-04-02 Thread Joe Bernard
I would recommend posting actual numbers you get with a tape measure for this,
that chart is going to be confusing for people.

Center of crank bolt to top of toptube will give the seattube number Riv uses
to size their frames. The toptube is mostly level so you can do a real (not
"effective") measurement there, center-to-center. That's a nice bike!
