Re: [RBW] First All Rounder Ever?
Here's the full story on that bike, with pics of both paint jobs. I believe the orange was paired with very dark blue, not black. Either way is'a piece of Rivendell history. http://www.adventurecorps.com/chronicles/bikes/rivendell/index.html Marty -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. [RBW] First All Rounder Ever?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rivendell-All-Rounder-Excellent-Condition-/230921054625?pt=Road_Bikeshash=item35c3f7a9a1 Now I am a natural skeptic, but I dont want to besmirch this seller unjustly. One would think, however that the first ever production bike from Rivendell would attract more attention. This fact at least seems to be the justification for the what I would call really high price for an almost 20 year old frame. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. That's Chris Kostman's bike, which is the 1st All Rounder. You can see the story here: http://www.xo-1.org/2011/11/for-sale-rivendell-all-rounder-1995.html It was originally painted orange like an XO-1, but was re-painted fairly recently. There are some great pictures of it in the Velo Cult museum: http://velocult.com/bikes/rivendell-frame-black/ I wonder what the reserve is. It's my size but my new Bomba is all-rounder enough for me. jim m wc ca On Wed, Jan 30, 2013 at 3:46 PM, Peter M uscpeter11...@gmail.com wrote: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rivendell-All-Rounder-Excellent-Condition-/230921054625?pt=Road_Bikeshash=item35c3f7a9a1 Now I am a natural skeptic, but I dont want to besmirch this seller unjustly. What size do you ride? Those were sized like MTBs. Chris rides a 59 Roadeo. Re: [RBW] First All Rounder Ever?
Temtping but the other half of me (the better half) says I need to purge some bikes or relegate them to the basement, not buy more, unfortunately. I guess a small brooklyn apartment and multiple bikes is a bit much but come on, I just need that replacement set of 26x1/8 wheels from Harris and I will have my J.C. Higgins Townie up and ready for spring! On Wed, Jan 30, 2013 at 7:25 PM, mather...@gmail.com wrote: ** What size do you ride? Those were sized like MTBs. Chris rides a 59 Roadeo. Re: [RBW] First All Rounder Ever?
I've always hankered after this bike of Chris', it's perfect. The repaint is nice but I really loved the original orange/black. Seems like a fair deal to me taking into account condition, history and cost of new Rivendells.
