[RBW] MUSA pants, knickers, shorts coming back

2021-08-27 Thread Berkeleyan
I saw on the Blahg that RBW is getting in some new clothing. My MUSA shorts
have been the best garment I've owned, sturdy and perfectly comfortable for
hiking, riding, and general knocking about. Seemingly indestructible, yet
I'll still get another pair or two.
Anyone know if they'll be returning to solid pockets? My one complaint, I
can't abide mesh pockets.

Re: [RBW] MUSA pants and shorts replacement elastic band?

Edwin, I replaced the elastic belts with non stretch webbing, and much
prefer it. If I put anything in the pockets, the elastic belts stretched
too much. Steve

[RBW] MUSA pants and shorts replacement elastic band?

2020-08-31 Thread Edwin W
Has anyone replaced the elastic band on their MUSA pants or shorts? I
replaced with climbing webbing, but it has no stretch. I would love to hear
of a tried a true source, as it is hard to see how thick the bands are
online, and I am not sure where to even go in person to find such a thing.
I think it is a 15mm elastic band.

Thanks for any advice,

Re: [RBW] MUSA Pants

2020-03-21 Thread Matt Beecher
Wow, Good for them to get some income. Ive been wanting to try some and
expected them to sell slowly this time, but I got 2.

I’ve got 2 of the previous style in L, but never really wore them because they
were a bit tight. I’m hanging onto them as a weight loss goal.

I wonder how many times they could sell out of the pants, before the market
won’t bear them. I also wonder what else might return.

I liked the idea of the sweater, but I have really long arms and find it very
difficult to find sleeves that fit. (I almost exclusively use a single brand
from a single store, because they reliably fit.). I wish there was a way to try
a xl or xxl on and return the sweater if it did not fit. If it fit well, I
would have taken 2, especially with the long sleeve length. Given they seemed
to want preorders only, I felt that test fittings was something they hoped to
avoid. I expect this might return eventually, but fear they will shorten the
sleeves.

I’d like the Jumbo Grabby to return, as the smaller one was handy on vacations,
but I wish it were slightly larger for some trips.

Re: [RBW] MUSA Pants

2020-03-20 Thread Robert Gardner
My two cents -- they fit exactly like stretchy dickies.

I am 6'2, 220 (36/32 pants) and fairly stocky/broad (played rugby for a
long time) and the larges are just tight enough to not be obviously
'riding' pants. They fit really, really well. So well, that I -- a person
who rarely wears bike-stuff off the bike -- wears them off the bike a lot.
Generally, I wear XLs (XXL in Euro-bike sizing) in things FWIW.

Not sure if that helps or not, but other than a glowing recommendation,
that's what I can tell ya.

[RBW] Musa pants for trade

2018-04-17 Thread 'Clayton' via RBW Owners Bunch
I bought a pair of small Musa grey and blue pants. They are just a bit too
small in the butt crack area and am looking to trade them for a medium. A
little bit of a wedgie thing going on. They are in excellent condition.
99.9% new. I washed them when I got them, tried them on a few times, hoping
my butt would get smaller, but nope. I have never worn them outside. Anyone
looking for a small? My waist is a thirty, and the small fits fine except
for the butt seam.

[RBW] MUSA Pants?

2015-09-24 Thread Thomas Lynn Skean
Last thing I recall was that the entire MUSA program was being reconsidered.
That was earlier in the summer I think. But as far as I can tell only the pants
and non-black knickers have become unavailable since. So I'm hopeful that what
sounded "dire" earlier was my misreading the signals and in fact the absence of
pants and/or knickers has been a seasonal thing.

However, if/when the pants come back it would not surprise me if they are only
in black and/or cost >$100. Neither would be great but both would be
understandable IMHO.

Yours,
Thomas Lynn Skean

[RBW] MUSA Pants?

2015-09-24 Thread Matthew J
Just got back from a 10 day cycle camping trip around Glacier NP where my
MUSA pants performed wonderfully. That is until I managed to burn a hole

So I went to the RBW site figuring I would buy a new pair or two only to
see none there.

Hoping this is a temporary. I do not recall any recent Blug posts on
point. Anyone know what's up?

for any shorter musa pants owner, how is the long inseam?

i'm 5'7", 30" inseam (but really only because no one makes 29" inseams)

do the leg openings and zipper tighten up enough to cinch it around the
ankle and keep it from dragging down below the heel? or will someone short

[RBW] MUSA Pants, Knickers & Shorts

2009-09-29 Thread Garth

I'm considering trying some MUSA knickers. I've read the nylon is a
lightweight weave. I've worn Ex Officio Amphi shorts/pants with the
briefs cut out for many years. and the nylon there is flyweight
and super supple, some feel like silk.(They vary from year to year)

I'm wondering if anyone has both Amphi pants/shorts and some MUSA
pants/shorts/knickers and can say if the nylon is about the same. ...
or not.

Is the belt good and stiff elastic, or is the cheap wimpy stuff that
doesn't really hold?

Is the belt removable/replaceable?
