[RBW] Other annoying threads
My list of list-pet-peeves include: -posts addressed directly to Rivendell Bicycle Works because the poster is too shy to call them. Most annoying when they include phrases like “Grant, are you listening?” -for sale posts from email users followed by an entirely NEW THREAD saying the thing for sale has sold -posts made mostly or entirely of sentence fragments. Grammar? Ever studied? Graduated? Thoughts? -posts made like this is Facebook or twitter. Like a post that says only ‘LOL’, or ‘???’ I guess I’m guilty with APPROVE posts, but I think that conveys a significant idea at least. -Bump posts to FS threads that say only ‘Bump’. Email viewers will only see an email from you that says ‘Bump’. They won’t know what you are selling. -subject lines that give no clue what the post is about. I ride an ebike 30mph uphill and passing in the bike lane is ridiculous. I either move to the car lane - which I use most of the time at those speeds anyway - or slow-the-hell down to pass like a bicycle. I'll bite, I love pet peeves! Two things I see daily on my commute: E-bikes going 30 mph, uphill, in the bike lane. Great, you have a motorcycle. At least give a ding on your way by. People who cut the queue but ride more slowly than everyone in it. What about cyclists who jump on your wheel without asking first? Does anyone here do that? It drives me crazy when I shoulder check to find someone sitting 2 feet behind me. I don't mind if they ride along side and ask first, but just to jump on my wheel - that infuriates me... Ha! I’m happily still using 6 and 7 speed freewheels and 126mm spacing, but I don’t think one way or the other is better. Use all the gears you like! I have given up on 5 speed though, so I have moved on a little bit. If I have less than 6, I want it to be Sturmey Archer 3 speed.
