The fork crown mounted cable stop will interfere with my fork crown mounted generator light. It does look like an interesting option. Larry Powers Get a bicycle. That works out. You have light AND an audible warning signal for unsuspecting, innocent woodland creatures crossing the road at night that you are barreling down upon them unless they scamper. Grin. Paul Mini-Motos. Perfect brake for my Simple1. Great stopping power, regular cable pull, clearance for 700x45. -J -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. [RBW] Quickbeam Squeal and Brakes
I have a simpleone and have experienced a good amount of squealing from the front brake with my Paul touring cantis. I've found that the most extreme toe in possible helps for a while. Also the kool stop salmon pads seem to be a little better than others I've tried. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. [RBW] Quickbeam Squeal and Brakes
My Quickbeam is my most used bike but I have suffered with front brake squeal since I bought it about 8 years ago. The original Shimano brakes may have squealed the least. I have also tried Cane Creek cantis and currently have Avid shorty 6's on the bike. The current brakes may be the worst. I spoke with Rivendell and they feel the issue is brake related and not an issue with the fork. I took a look at the Quickbeams on the Cyclofiend site noticed that many had high profile cantis. Has anyone cured the squeal by going to high profile cantis? Any recomendations? Paul does not recommend their high profile cantis for road bikes so I have been looking at Cane Creek and Velo Orange brakes. Any thoughts on these? Any other options? Thanks.
