Re: [RBW] Re: #ClemWaiting
Now it looks like a Real Clem, reporting for duty. I was so glad you posted photos so I could show my sister what her bike will look like. Has anyone else gotten a Clem in the mail? Re: [RBW] Re: #ClemWaiting
I think my Clem H feels super light, too. I don’t know a thing about frame geometry but I assume there’s a special balance it has. I “graduated” my wife from a rescued Jamis Commuter to her own Clem H and she feels the same way about it feeling light. > On Aug 23, 2019, at 8:27 PM, Joe Bernard wrote: > > Adam: Leah (Belle Ding Ding) and I were just discussing this. Adam: Leah (Belle Ding Ding) and I were just discussing this. She noticed that "spring" in her Clementine, and I related that I could detect a bit of flex in the Clem L I had. I don't pretend to know how all this works, but that bike feels like it absorbs energy and spits it back out into a magical little tailwind. [RBW] Re: #ClemWaiting
i concur that the clem L feels light for what it is. i think because it lacks a top tube it gives up a bit more flex which makes pedaling easier. [RBW] Re: #ClemWaiting
There is something about the clem feeling lighter than it is. The only time i notice that it's heavy is when have to pick it up to go up the steps into work. When riding it feels like a lighter bike than it is, and it rides equally well loaded or unloaded. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] Re: #ClemWaiting
My boyfriend is replacing his Disc Trucker with a Clem L 52cm. On test rides, he said the Clem climbed better and accelerated faster, while still being able to carry a lot. That's been his main complaint with the Trucker-it's great for carrying a lot, but is tortoise-like. Since we mostly ride around town, with a few longer trips (20-40 miles) a year for camping, I think he's going to find the Clem fits the bill better. Anxiously #ClemWaiting until the bike comes in to Rivelo and then we will BOTH have them! :) On Monday, August 19, 2019 at 3:10:25 PM UTC-7, PaulS wrote: > > Anyone have experience with the Clem L and a Surly Trucker? Re: [RBW] Re: #ClemWaiting
Does she want to swap out her bike? If so, is she using her LHT for shopping? Carrying anything? I am using a Clementine for my sons’ school commute. The bike is magical and even though it’s heavy, I have no trouble climbing hills with it. Whatever stupid weight I saddle it with, the bike absorbs it like it’s not even there. This morning, with a front rack, and 2 Backabike bags on the rear, I hauled: 2 U-locks, a Chromebook, a lunchbox, one violin and one clarinet. And then my own phone and keys, naturally. I only noticed the weight when I lifted the rear end of the bike to turn it at a crosswalk. The bike never complains; it’s dog-like how it just exists to please you and make your life happy. There, you can read her that. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. Anyone have experience with the Clem L and a Surly Trucker? I am thinking of replacing my wife's Trucker with a Clem. It's pertty much used for shorter rides around town and 10-20 mile rides occsionally. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] Re: #ClemWaiting
The Indiana dealer may have a Clem L available for you. I just inherited my mother in law’s Clementine (first gen Clem L) and it’s absolutely my favorite bike. It’s a dream, really. I think you should give Chris a call and after that, see if 718 or Analog Cycles has a bike left from the pre order! Good luck and I hope you snag one. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. That sounds like a great build. I'm thinking about getting a fun bit for some trail riding myself, and could definitely see the merits of a build like this. Definitely was a bit bummed to see the last of them sell out before I could stop waffling on whether or not I should get one. I have the 52cm green one on order for my son who got a bike stolen from outside his apartment last year and no longer owns a bike. I already have three Rivs - a 46 Appaloosa, a 47cm Roadini and a 55cm Cheviot, but this is the first Riv a family member is receiving. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
