[RBW] Re: Anyone tried the Yokozuna Reaction cables?

2015-03-07 Thread Michael Hechmer
Changing the cables regularly is a better investment. I broke a cable
once, very far from home. After that, on any bike I put a lot of miles
started each season with new cables, a new chain and usually new tape and
new tires. Biking is better with peace of mind.

 Hi,

I was planning on putting Paul's canti's on my Hunq this weekend, and
was wondering it would be worth upgrading the cables.

Has anyone tried the Yokozuna Reaction cables for brakes and/or shifters?

Any thoughts on using them with Alba bars?

Are they worth the pocket change? Would you recommend different cables?

 Thanks,

 John

this is all about the housings - lower friction than any other made. You
can use any cables and cables Almost always break at the derailleur boss

Jim,

I think you can get a full set for front/back brake shifter
cables housing, plus hardware, for about $53-$60/set.

yes, they are awesome - the internal core is spiraled at a shallow angle
that is almost linear and friction is nonexistent. Have two bikes set up
with. On my current project, I had just one piece of it laying around and
used it for the final RD cable. 2 x $18 from Rivendell for the normal
Yokuzina vs. $65 for a Reaction set. Is it worth $30? I think so (though
cutting corners, I didn't use it on my current project).
