[RBW] Re: Appaloosa Pedals -- Identified
Pro-tip. On your Appaloosa, remove the aluminum dust caps, put a drop of blue loctite (or beeswax) on the threads. Reinstall, but only snug, don't strip the plastic threads out. My dustcap was about half-way unscrewed on one pedal after about a 6-mile jaunt. On Monday, March 7, 2016 at 8:25:06 PM UTC-8, Bill Lindsay wrote: > > The pedal bodies ARE slotted. Thanks for confirming, Bill, that's good news for us retentionistas. On Monday, March 7, 2016 at 8:25:06 PM UTC-8, Bill Lindsay wrote: > > The pedal bodies ARE slotted. [RBW] Re: Appaloosa Pedals -- Identified
Those are pretty nice! Especially for a plastic pedal! I happened upon a pedal I really like at REI. Slim nice looking and only $20 a pair! I have plenty of other platform pedals that cost twice as much that I did not like half as well! Bought a pair for the Clementine and liked'em so much I bought another pair for the other 'tine even though I already had a set of pedals that would have worked fine for that bike. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] Re: Appaloosa Pedals -- Identified
Andrew I think the pedal bodies are not slotted in a way that you could easily run retention straps. I'll double-check when I get home. Do the horizontal slots in the pedals run all the way through, on both sides of the axle? I ask, wondering whether velcro retention straps or similar will fit these. - Andrew, Berkeley On Monday, March 7, 2016 at 11:27:08 AM UTC-8, Bill Lindsay wrote: > > On my separate Appaloosa thread, a couple people asked about the pedals. > I speculated that they might be Wellgo. Awesome, thanks for sleuthing Bill! They look rad, was just hoping they came in a little closer to the typical Wellgo-ish price point. Alas, nothing too good for these feet! [RBW] Re: Appaloosa Pedals -- Identified
I thought they reminded me of the VP-001 pedal that RIv carries, makes sense that they'd spec something similar...
