[RBW] Re: Atlantis/Hilsen owners

I completely see the logic behind selling the Hunq and picking up a faster
road bike. I went a similar route with my Hillborne and Roadeo.

I think you will feel a difference with just the frame change. The Atlantis
is stiffer than the Hilsen, and also heavier. All in all, the Hilsen should
feel a bit quicker given you have it fit properly and set up for faster
road riding.

I am convinced that one of the things that makes my Roadeo feel faster (and
it is faster) than my Hillborne is the wheel change I did when I built it
up. I went for a set of road wheels that are not really Riv approved, they
weigh 1525 grams for the set and I put 32mm Compass Stampede Pass tires on
them. I do believe that change to a standard build like what is on my
Hillborne accounts for much of the speed difference that I'm seeing.

I own an Atlantis and a Hunqapillar. I have them set up differently. The

Atlantis like , I think a Hilsen would be used. I'm thinking of selling the
Hunqapillar and getting a Hilsen. The Atlantis is a great bike, my favorite
but seems a bit sluggish on quicker road rides. My goal is to get a quicker
ride, not racing. So, in a round about way here is my question, if I set up
an Atlantis and Hilsen with similar wheels, tires etc, am I really going to
feel a difference in quickness, speed etc. between the Atlantis and Hilsen
frames?Any thoughts would be appreciated. Bill

I had (among others) an Atlantis and a Saluki and they felt very similar to
me, same kind of components for the most part.
