i wonder that as well.

The material for the dress shoes appears as though it may be too
rigid.

The material on the rubber soled shoe could work.  I have only used
them since spring, but so far they have held up well.

I imagine Brooks and Berthoud would not be interested.  There must be
someone with the facilities that could be induced to give it a try.
