[RBW] Re: Entmoot tire recs - under biking results
I was on 2.5 Weirwolves and I was still working pretty hard to keep it on the trial. Well done! In the end, I left the Hetres on the Sam H. and they performed wonderfully. I was able to ride the same trails and roads (including some pretty bumpy single track at China Camp with lots of exposed sharp rocks) as other bikes with stouter and knobbier tires. I had no flats and no sidewall issues. Generally I run the Hetres pretty soft when not heavily loaded (~35-40 psi), but bumped them up to 60psi to avoid pinch flats because of the full Large Saddlesack plus sleeping bag, air pad, and ground pad in the front basket. Overall, the Hetres were great for me. There was one other rider using Hetres who had a different experience than I did. I only heard second hand, but it sounds like he hit a rock pretty hard and it ruined the tire. Of course, that could happen to almost any tire with the right rock. Thanks for the encouragement to not overthink things, keep it simple, and underbike a bit. -Aaron Young The Dalles, OR On Thursday, July 10, 2014, Philip Williamson philip.w...@gmail.com javascript: wrote: I have had a freewheel-equipped S3X, generator hub, and semi-knobbies on the QB for the last two days, but I'm going to just ride the fixed C-Line wheels. Awesome! Underbiking will always teach you something, even if that something is don't do THAT again! Grin. [RBW] Re: Entmoot tire recs - under biking results
I rode C-lines on the singletrack at about 60 lbs. They worked pretty nicely. I stacked, but more due to the fixed gear, saddlebag, and poor handling skills than the tires. Slow speed endo into gravel. Philip www.biketinker.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group.
