[RBW] Re: Friday exploratory ride report.
Deacon, Thanks, It was a great ride. I am really looking forward to the long ride in May through the higher up backcountry. 11 months is pretty quick to open up a burn area lucky you. Yeah, I was surprised, figuring it would be next year. They're only opening some areas, but they are the areas I love to camp and the main area I can bike to for S24O's that don't have a lot of folks shooting and riding ATVs, so I'm really looking forward to it. the more popular hiking trail areas will remain closed indefinitely. [RBW] Re: Friday exploratory ride report.
Mendenhall road looks pretty good from your pictures Hugh. Glad to see some of those old Big Cone Spruces survived the fire. Those are some of the last ones in left in So Cal. The rocks along there are interesting too, part of the Mendenhall Gneiss, a Precambrian formation. The whole ride over Mt Gleason and across the San Gabriel's should be quite a ride. ~mike On Friday, April 12, 2013 11:18:15 PM UTC-7, hsmitham wrote: Left my home late in the day and was in the saddle again. Hugh, looks like another great ride. Thanks for taking the time to stop and take the pictures, post them and share them with us. I would have had a hard time turning around. I get on roads like those and just want to keep going. --mike -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. Looks great, Hugh. Thanks for posting this. I've been wanting to get into that area for a while, but I haven't had the chance yet. You've got some great riding opportunities right out your backdoor! Hi Bryan, Yeah thanks it is amazing just out my doorstep, I was just commenting about that to a friend, up here in the foothills we have a little complex though about the Westside come Summertime :-) Hugh On Saturday, April 13, 2013 8:59:28 PM UTC-7, Bryan wrote: Looks great, Hugh.
