The CX70 is nice, but really just about any double fd that'll fit your seattube will work with that shifter and cranks. That's one of the great things about a Riv-style drivetrain, you don't have to go through all the matchy-matchy gymnastics just to get a chain across two dang rings. As I can attest with my recent attempt to make a Tiagra derailer shift Sugino cranks with an old XTR shifter, friction is way easier to work with up front. Yeah I'm going to run a XD2 as a double. I have a black set of arms laying around and a few 110 BCD single rings. I was debating running a similar gearing setup as your 48x34.
