hi charlie, which fenders would not take the 38mm marathon supreme (i'm
guessing these are the 42mm labeled ones?), i'm thinking about a pair of
supremes and want to make sure i can clear my fenders--eyeballs say yes,
but any other data point is useful!

you could purchase a nicer riding Rivendell.

[RBW] Re: Hillborne show bike

2012-06-02 Thread charlie
I have the Planet bike fenders on my Hillborne now and while they
would clear.. it was really close. I may try some Longboards. I don't
like running tires super close as the tires often pick up rocks and
sticks etc. and grind them through the fenders. I mounted my new Creme
700x35 Delta Cruisers and they seem fine. I'll be posting a photo soon
with my attempt at two color bar tape.

I run 40mm tires (Kenda Kwick Roller EZ Ride) under 52mm VO Zeppelin

FWIW... I had to up-size my fenders (to 50mm... I think) to get adequate
 clearance under my Supremes.

[RBW] Re: Hillborne show bike

2012-05-29 Thread charlie
Thanks Andy.I may have to get some new Longboards or some metal
fenders but yea.got a itch for Creme tires so we'll see how they
roll first. The Supremes are my fav tire for performance and ride
qualities (on my Trucker). Using some 32mm Ribmos on the Hillborne now
and while nice enough they are just a little narrow for my 260 pounds
except on smooth asphalt. Really need a wider cushier tire. The chip-
seal roads are annoyingly buzzy at 90 psi.
