[RBW] Re: LA Bump Ride.
Popped this into google maps and selected bicycle. I had to laugh. Their selected route on W.Sunset takes you within two blocks of Laur el and Hardy park. Neither you nor Evan tend toward those two characters, but it struck my funny bone to see it on the map. Looks like you had a good time with some great vistas. Here is one I would like to try up there: http://www.hikespeak.com/trails/sam-merrill-trail-echo-mountain/ Don't let the 2.7 miles fool you. Looks challenging and has a fascinating history. Looks like Hunqapiler territory. I picture Rivsters hooting it up on Echo mountain. I love bikes! What a wondrously different experience and scenery than I'll likely ever have on the bike (baring brain healing, the sound of the city would do me in in seconds), but the bike takes us each where we are going. Thanks Deacon...not that I want to experience the city environs often but you work with what you have. I find the city has much to offer but of course I'd choose 9 times out of 10 to spend time in locals such as yours. IMHO the bicycle is a magical way to transport one self through all sorts of surroundings. ~Hugh Hugh Sunland, Ca On Sun, Sep 15, 2013 at 9:51 AM, Deacon Patrick lamontg...@mac.com wrote: I love bikes! Re: [RBW] Re: LA Bump Ride.
Pre brain injury I was never much of a city person, though I went to university in Denver, but I always loved visiting them. I can't say I miss it, but seeing the various pictures here reminds we what isn't an option. It's great to experience it vicariously, be it LA, Portland, Seattle, or DC. [RBW] Re: LA Bump Ride.
Good day for a ride and not quite as hot as the desert. my camera battery was lost early in the ride (not so interesting story), so all the picture taking was done by Hugh. After seeing Hugh off in China town, I rode to Union Station - a few trains were cancelled so I rode around for a few more hours, visiting some old stomping grounds. Felt an inspiration to photograph stuff, my only means was lousy iPhone camera ... Deacon that's cool that you had that vicarious sense of adventure, I think that is at the escense of why we take pictures. It is nice to look at your camp photos. it makes California feel very dry right now. -EvanS canyon country -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group.
