[RBW] Re: Mini bike tour around the Bay Area.
In the town of Mill Valley, there's a nice cafe with baked goods and coffee, in the town square- I like to stop there in the early morning on a ride. across the street is a full grocery store and deli, good for lunch sandwiches. Tons of pizza places, and such, all in across from the town square. On Apr 21, 7:42 pm, manueljohnacosta manueljohnaco...@hotmail.com wrote: Taking my Venturing Crew on their first bike tour! Thanks everyone for the suggestions! @Anne We we're planning to take the Planet of the Apes road which is just Old San Perdo Mountain Road. I haven't done the ride myself. But I hear great things about the view. I've done this tour before, so it should be interesting revisiting places I've been two year before. General route Day One (4/24) Begins: San Jose Ends: Hawk Camp, 591 Tennessee Valley Rd, Mill Valley, Ca 94941 If you are coming up through SF to get to Hawk Camp, you probably want to stop at Mollie Stone's market on Harbor Bridgeway to load up on supplies. There's not a lot of services once you head out on Tennesee Valley Road. There is a fruit/veggie stand just at the intersection of TVR and Hwy 1 (Shoreline). There is also a market just beyond TVR at Tam Junction. Pit toilets at the parking lot - I forget the specific amenities at the campsite. It can be pretty cool in that valley - fog is the norm this time of year and you are fairly close to the coast. Downtown Mill Valley is a few miles up Miller Ave. Good coffee and snacks in town. On Bridgeway, there's Fish at the harbor end of Harbor Ave, which has a take out and eat counter service. Not cheap, but not bad. Ditto with Cibo on Bridgeway in Sausalito, which has tables outside - nice if the sun is out. Avatar's Punjabi burritos in downtown Mill Valley will fill you up with stunningly good food. Manny, Some day you'll have to lead a tour like that for beginners in this list like myself! :-) René -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. Re: [RBW] Re: Mini bike tour around the Bay Area.
Oh, wow, Manny. Give us lots of description and pics. I didn't even know that road (or fire road, whatever, it's clearly not paved) was there.
