Very nice. My issue is finding an easy release canti but I have been able to 
get my shimano’s to release better.

Paul Components Touring Cantilevers.  I haven't run cantis in a very long 
time and wanted to try some out for this build.  I only did a very, very 
short ride around the neighborhood on them yesterday because of my injury, 
but I think I got them dialed in pretty well.

Yeah.  That thing.  :). I called headquarters yesterday and they set me up 
with a wider bottom bracket and a Deore shifter.  When I got it home and 
compared it to the XT I already had sitting there, they were nearly 
identical.  I popped on the 113 BB and shimmed up the XT.  Damn thing 
shifts beautifully, of course.  You were right!  I still want to find a 
more elegant-looking derailer, but this is functionally perfect.
