[RBW] Re: New to the group, New Hunqapillar on the way!
Thanks all for the warm welcome! Very much appreciated, and it's nice to be here with all of you! Alright folks, here's the rundown as far as the build is concerned: Frame: 58cm Green/Cream Hunqapillar 2TT This bike will probably wear two outfits, depending on season/mood. I'll have a couple of options for bars/tires/saddles. Bars: Nitto Bullmoose/Albatross Bars, depending on what I'm feeling at the moment. I've had Albas for years and oh boy...what a bar! Wheels: 36h SonDeluxe Wide Body Front Hub Sapim Laser Spokes, Brass Nipples Velocity NoBs 700c Rims White Industries Mi5 Rear Cassette Hub 36h Tires: Schwalbe Big Bens 700x55/ Schwalbe Smart Sams 700x54 Cranks: Sugino xd600 175mm BB: IRD Defiant 110 Square Taper Cassette: Sram 8sp Chain: Sram 8sp Derailleurs: Tiagra Long Cage (Works just fine for now), R453 Triple (Again, no problem with this and an xd600 on another bike) : ) Pedals: MKS Sylvan Prime Seatpost: Nitto s83 Saddle: Brooks B-17 Aged Brown/ B-67 Brown Brakes: Paul Touring Cantilevers, Canti Levers Shifters: Ultegra 8sp Barcons, Paul Thumbies Racks: Nitto Mini Front, Soon adding R-14 Basket: Wald 137 zip-zapped to the Mini Bags: Medium Tan Shopsack up front, Large Tan Saddlesack in back. Lights: Lumotec Cyo Premium front, Toplight Line Brake Plus rear Fenders: Berthoud Stainless 60mm. (Sort of wish SKS would consider wide 700c plastic fenders, and even sent them an e-mail about it...chirp, chirp. Maybe a longboard version of the P55 for 700c..: ) Never really cared for the PB Cascadias... I think that's it really. I commute year round in the Hudson Valley Region of New York, so I feel like this bike has an interesting life ahead of it! Do you think Wooly Nelson might be a fitting name? : ) I hope to get pictures going when the bike gets in. Pretty excited for sure! Thanks all! -Bryan On Wednesday, September 3, 2014 9:53:43 PM UTC-4, comveo wrote: Hey everyone, I've nosed around these parts for quite some time and you've all inspired me a great deal. Fantastic, Bryan! Enjoy building up your mammoth. Have you any idea how you are building it and the types of things you plan to ride with it? I absolutely love mine and we have a blast in the Colorado mountains. With abandon, Patrick -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. [RBW] Re: New to the group, New Hunqapillar on the way!
Welcome. I saw my first Hungapillar (single top tube} last week in Austin, Texas. The bike was owned by a local bike shop employee and was built up in classic Rivendell fashion, down tube friction shifters, etc. All Rivendell's have distinctive head badges, but I really liked the Hungapillar's head tube. You are getting a great bike! Congratulations. Richard -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. Hi Bryan, Congrats on the Hunqapillar! A terrific bike. Jim, If you're asking about the Hunqapillar in Austin, I think the shop is Mellow Johnny's.
