Great pic of one happy rider! Thanks for sharing. On Aug 27, 11:43 am, Eduardo Rosas ejro...@gmail.com wrote: I thought people on here might have had a similar proud parent moment! His school is only about 1 mile away and it sure is nice to skip the drop off/pick up lines! Anyway Happy Friday! Rob, That triple tandem is SWEET! Although that might make me have to pull the wife and the kid! :) On Aug 27, 11:12 am, Rob Harrison robha...@gmail.com wrote: Sweet! He is clearly very proud and happy! We had that moment just two years ago. :) Like you we live about a mile from our son's school. Last year we split the commute between riding with him on his own bike and taking the Metro bus. The only issue we've had is that often other parents pick him up for a playdate at their house and forget to get his bicycle. So...we added another option, a Bike Friday Triple Traveler: http://www.flickr.com/photos/robharrison/4926861667/ It converts to a tandem, which is the configuration we'll probably get the most use out of. Or I suppose we could pick up one of his friends too! As of tomorrow we'll have been car-free for a year, so it's nice to have options. Re: [RBW] Re: OT: Happy Commuter
It was Richard Vallens Lovemarks letter that really sold me on the idea of the Bike Friday tandem: http://community.bikefriday.com/lovemarks He writes: My Bike Friday Family Tandem is a flying carpet of great magic, the perfect solution to the eternal quest of doing something with your kids where you can both have fun and truly communicate. My rides with my son (14 now, 8 when we bought the bike) on our Family Tandem are the BEST, absolutely the best memories he and I have. We’ve had a complete Blast! on this bike – physically close enough to talk and hear well (and conspire), with the bicycling effortlessly filling any gaps in conversation. I’ve learned everything about my son by being close enough to hear as his thoughts and impressions burble out during long Family Tandem rides. So many times, it was just us in our own world, father and son on the Red Bike. Bike Friday is my Lovemark. AWESOME creating bike commuters one cute kindergartner at a time ;-) My daughter is entering second grade and we live about 2.5 miles from school but unfortunately it includes a rather substantial hill on the way home. Still she has really gotten into the bike this summer so we will have to incorporate some Ride in, car home trips this year On Aug 27, 9:43 am, Eduardo Rosas ejro...@gmail.com wrote: I thought people on here might have had a similar proud parent moment! Dave Sweet dummy! I like the seats back there on the xtracycle. My LBS has a Big Dummy with a stoke monkey electric assist and my son makes the owner give him a ride every time we stop by.
