[RBW] Re: OT-Cool Lugged bike for 7 year old (has to be girly)
We bought the smallest Trek Skye for my daughter a couple of years ago (she was 9 at the time). She was wanting a purple or pink bike too. We headed into the LBS to see what they had, and there in stock was the right size bike in a metallic gray, with the decal for it in pink... although she was picturing a pink bike, she really liked this one (possibly because it was 'right there', versus 'still looking'. But she still likes it. And, the price wasn't bad; even though it was an inexpensive bike, it isn't bad at all, it actually quite good. I would like to see her on a little Betty Foy, but, I can't quite justify that for a kids' bike. Elephant made a bike for a gal, that I thought was outright awesome. It would be one that I'd be happy to see her on. Again, tho' I'm sure it wouldn't have been anywhere near as cost-effective as the Trek was... So I could get something intended for a boy and get re-spray but I know there are a good bit of parents on here who might have a better idea. [RBW] Re: OT-Cool Lugged bike for 7 year old (has to be girly)
PS: the nice thing about the Trek, when we first got it, we slammed the seat down, then raised it a little, to get the right saddle height. But w/ the post all the way up to the extension line, even I could ride it (and I'm six-foot-tall). So, it's a bike that she can use through college most likely. Is your daughter a 'tall' seven-year-old? On Tuesday, April 16, 2013 8:20:57 AM UTC-4, Leslie wrote: We bought the smallest Trek Skye for my daughter a couple of years ago (she was 9 at the time). Re: [RBW] Re: OT-Cool Lugged bike for 7 year old (has to be girly)
She is not particularly tall for her age but is moving past themed stuff like Disney princesses and whatnot and could probably be talked into a somewhat normal looking bike. I was also thinking of a folding bike since then tend to have low profiles, anyone's kid ever grow with a decent folding bike?
