I've ridden that a bunch of times. Went to William and Mary, nearby college. A bud and I used to ride the Parkway to the James River, cross via ferry, lunch at the Surry House, ride 10 up to the Harrison Bridge (outside of Richmond) ride 5 back to Williamsburg. It was an all day ride. Probably 100 miles. Lot of history on that part of the James. I rode a Raleigh Comp. He rode a Motobecane.
Somehow we did this regularly in the days before Rando, fat tires, and energy bars. We'd pack a tuna sandwich and a can of Bud for the Harrison Bridge before taking 5 back.
