I would recommend Bikesmiths in Carpinteria. Bicycle Bob's in Santa Barbara is an excellent shop as well. Oceanair in Ventura (SB adjacent in RE terms) is worth considering. Not a Rivendell dealer but home to seriously Riv-inspired Rambler. Contact for hours & surf report. In Santa Barbara check out the Wine Hound on north State St near hwy 154.
