Great ride, beautiful day, good company. Never been to a bike show before so it was a pretty amazing display. Found out you can have a carbon fiber saddle custom made to fit your very own butt. They make a mold of your butt print so they can make the saddle. My Brooks always take care of that naturally. dougP -Original Message- From: rbw-owners-bunch@googlegroups.com [mailto:rbw-owners-bu...@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Esteban Sent: Monday, April 06, 2009 8:06 AM To: RBW Owners Bunch Subject: [RBW] Re: San Diego Custom Bicycle Show - this weekend, Riv ride Sunday Doug, Dustin and I met in the morning and did a nice ride around San Diego Bay, up the Silver Strand, and across the harbor via the Coronado ferry. Doug - be careful. Those butt molds might be sent to the NSA. Dustin - at least a beard can be decided upon without the weight of permanence. Dave - see you on one of the So Cal Riv Friends rides soon! I think Southern California may have more riders than anywhere else in terms of numbers, but its spread out and dominated by racers. [RBW] Re: San Diego Custom Bicycle Show - this weekend, Riv ride Sunday
Dave: That guy from San Dimas is Bill Ryder and was really helpful. He had frames with integrated racks, painted to match. Very clean, no eyelets or fasteners cluttering things up and the matching paint really makes the racks look like they belong on the bike. He showed us how he'd worked out the wiring thru the tubing for the lights. Very thoughtful designs. Our next adventure is April 19 in Orange County. Meet at the Irvine train station, ride the Santiago Canyon loop, jog over to Mission Viejo for a pilgrimage to the start/finish line of the '84 Olympic road course, and back to Irvine. 40 rolly miles. This part of Southern California is as green as it gets right now. dougP -Original Message- From: rbw-owners-bunch@googlegroups.com [mailto:rbw-owners-bu...@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Dave C Sent: Monday, April 06, 2009 12:36 PM To: RBW Owners Bunch Subject: [RBW] Re: San Diego Custom Bicycle Show - this weekend, Riv ride Sunday I went with my wife, my 1 year-old, and a longtime friend who lives in San Diego. I should remark that this is not the official So Cal Riv Ride for April, but a Riv-ish ride during the show! Not too long - about 2-3 hours max, as its unfolding.
